Li Jing carefully extracted her arms from around her sister and made Li Na more comfortable before she climbed off the bed. She gave her sleeping sister one last look before she covered her with a quilt and left the room. She looked into the main bedroom and saw that mother and son were sleeping peacefully before  she made her way towards the front door. She unlocked the door and slid it open before she stepped outside and slid it close once again.

As soon as the door opened , her parents and brothers opened their eyes and looked at her as she stepped forward. They stood up and faced her. The questions were unspoken from the concern looks on their faces.

"She was poisoned. If A-Guo did not send that message and asked for help. She would not have made it."

Li Jing answered their unspoken questions, and anger flared up inside them all.

"How is she now?. How is Li Na?."

Wuxian asked, pushing his anger down.

"She is resting. They both are. A-Guo is also sleeping. He must've been so scared. Li Na did good, baba and a-die."

Li Jing said with tears in her eyes and a proud smile on her face as she looked at her parents and brothers. The alpha and omega gave a proud and satisfied nod when they heard those words.

"Let them rest. I believe the sect leader and his mate will be here in less than a few minutes. Let's meet them in the outer courtyard so as not to disturb the three inside if it comes down to a fight."

The alpha said as his turn around and walked down the stairs. His eyes rested for a few seconds on the path that led to the jingshi. The place he called for so long his home. His safe place and space. The place he took his omega to and tried to build a home for the both of them but never could. Wei Ying touched his arm lightly, and Lan Zhan turned his head towards his mate. Their eyes met, and Wei Ying smiled at him.

"I miss it too and our...."

His voice trailed off at the ending, but they both knew what he wanted to say, and Lan Zhan brought Wei Ying into his embrace while he soothingly rubbed his back. Their children watched them for a second before they moved past them and down the path way. Their parents took a few more seconds to compose themselves before they followed them. Angry voices drifted towards them as they made their way towards the outer courtyard. They gave each other a quick glance as the voices became clearer.

"Shufu, who gave them permission to enter the Cloud Recess, and where are A-Guo now?."

Lan Xichen's voice drifted towards them, and they could hear the concealed anger in his voice. They stepped into the outer courtyard.

"A-Guo is resting next to his mother whom he was not allowed to see or even visit. Sect Leader Lan I was always made feel and told numerous times that I am just like my father, but you truly are the one who is his son. Locking your omega away and leaving her to die all alone and not even allowing her own son to visit her. "

Lan Zhan spoke through gritted teeth as anger raged through his very veins. Lan Xichen's head whipped towards Lan Zhan, and his eyes became slits as he glared at him in anger.

"Am I lying Lan Xichen?. Does any of you even know that Meiren was close to death and if we did not arrive when we did. She would not have made it through the day."

Lan Zhan spoke again, his eyes boring into Lan Xichen, who had the nerve to look shocked.

"Meiren was fine. She was just not feeling well. You and your family had no right to interfere in Lan family business. I want you to take your family and leave at once."

Lan Xichen growls out as his scent sours around him and the courtyard indicating just how angry he is. Lan Qiren had the audacity to look outraged, and Jin Guangyoa stood silently next to his mate with a mocking smile on his face, which did not go unnoticed by Lan Zhan and Wei Ying
