"His followers have already made themselves at home at Hogwarts. I don't know what they are planning to do but Remus and I are working on it. You four keep doing what you're doing, if it's true about the Horcrux it's going to be our only chance to beat him. Well I've got to go now, take care darling " said Sirius, his face disappearing into the fireplace.

Evelyn stared at the fireplace for a couple of minutes in the room she shared with Harry. They had been recently staying at the Shell Cottage for about two weeks, the four teenagers had lost focus of what they'd been doing after the incident.

It was something about the screams of Hermione that traumatized the girl, the screams of her best friend yelling for help. She was there but she didn't stop it until it was too late.

After that they decided to never speak of it again, Hermione didn't talk for a couple of days before trying to go back to her old self. Evelyn helped the girl heal the cut, and at last, it was barely visible what was once written there.

She heard the door behind her open and footsteps come closer to her, they sat down next to her. The sky fell dark, it was Harry, of course, it was Harry it would've always been Harry behind her. "You alright?" He asked her scooting in closer.

"You haven't been close lately. I understand but I just want to make sure you are okay. I know it hasn't been the perfect time to spend alone-" You're always worrying, she wanted to say.
"You're sitting here with me." She signed with her hands. "That's all that matters" She looked at him.

There was a moment of silence that neither of them decided to break. It was just the two of them looking into each other's gaze, savoring the moment when it was just the two of them, both of them wondering if this would be the last time they were alone like this.

Harry looked at the fireplace, "I don't know how you do it" he said at last. She didn't move, "I don't know how you keep being strong after everything. How you don't react to those things like the rest of us. I get that it's not easy for you to talk about this- in general. I mean how you always keep a smile on your face as if nothing happened."

Harry looked down at his shoes, Evelyn slowly looked at Harry and admired the side of his face. She admired his round glasses and his shitty-cut brown hair, she loved his jawline, his touch, his kisses.

Of course, it was killing her, it pained her to see Harry silently crying while they slept, he would muffle his mouth to not make a sound and wake her up but she was always awake.

Hermione would stare aimlessly at the window without moving for hours, she had been crying for hours her cheeks stained, and she wouldn't tell no one not even her.

Ron would try and cheer her up but would be instantly ignored by the only girl he loved and ever will, a smile on his lips disappearing in an instant. He wiped his watery eyes before giving her some space.

It pained her to see her best friend screaming at the top of her lungs, screaming for it to stop. What hurt her even more was existing, the lies she kept to herself that only she knew could end all this in an instant if they knew.

It destroyed her from the inside knowing that when they destroy Voldemort she won't be there to be with him. Because to destroy him she will be long dead, it will be the only way for them to live in peace once and for all, without her in the world.

Her heart aches every time they're one step closer to finding a Horcrux, one more day of life snatched out of her hands. She has the choice of joining her father and never living another day of constant fear of being destroyed and just finding someone else but she wouldn't. She couldn't.

She loved this life, she loved that she couldn't talk, it would eat her out, but she loved her way of thinking, she loved the friends she made along the way. She loved her new family and above all she had Harry. The love of her life.
