I awake from sleep
and gasps for air,
sitting up in bed.

I suddenly smell
the aroma of
breakfast.

Tetsuya is quiet
as he stares at
me with worry.

He's making
breakfast on
the little gas
oven.

“I had a nightmare.” I
whisper as my body
trembles and I feel
like crying but I hold
back my tears.

Tetsuya walks over
and gives me a gentle
hug.

I hug back, glad to be
in his embrace.

I feel safe.

Not put in
harm's way.

“You were sleeping
for a while so I didn't
wake you.” Tetsu
says.

I gaze at the window
and notice that it's
daylight.

I'm so glad.

“The night was
so long….” I
frown and
sniffle.

“Indeed. Should
we eat breakfast?”
He asks.

I nod in agreement,
“What did you make?”
