Ch 5

Cherry's POV

"She said what!" Jia says with an angry expression "whats her problem" Toshi says "I know right" I say Jia and Toshi are also long time patients in this hospital with the same heart condition I have but only they are getting better. I was explaining to them what Caro said to me at the party "at least your finally experiencing things and having a life outside of this place" Jia says "you seem happier more hopeful" Toshi says "I agree with Toshi you smile a lot more now and you get so cheesy talking about that boy Jake" Jia says wiggling her eyebrows at me I roll my eyes trying to stop myself from blushing "whatever" I say "I gotta go I have to run some blood work soon, see you guys later" Jia says before leaving "I hope Jake treats you well, you deserve it" Toshi says "he does" I smile to him and rub his shoulder "hey" I turn to look at the door and its Jake and he's looking at Toshi "Im going, see you Cherry" Toshi says walking out Jake doesn't take his eyes off him till he's gone "who's that guy" Jake says expressionless "Toshi-" "what's he to you" "my friend he's also a patient here" "what does he want" "does he have to want something? he's just my friend" Jake nods he looks a little too serious could this be jealousy? Jealousy looks hot on Jake. "are you jealous" I laugh "are you really asking me that" he says pulling me up from the bed. He pulls me in to hug him "I was but that stays between us" "I knew it"

I listen to Jake as he rambles on about how his classes went apparently 2 girl got into a fight over Jay I laugh at the fact Jake said he saw pieces of the girls hair on the ground after the fight was over. It is very strange to me how Caro described Jake to me, it is like he is a completely different person from who she described compared to how he portrays himself to me. I completely believe that he can be the biggest player there is. Jake is rich, young, popular, smart and insanely attractive their is no need for him to be tied down to anyone let alone me. But Jake is giving me what I want to experience in life so I am willing to see if he is actually how Caro told me. "you okay" Jake says waving his hand infront of my face "yeah sorry I got distracted" I say "its okay" Jake puts a strand of my hair behind my ear "can I take you on a date" he asks "huh" I say "Can I take you on a date? I do not only want to go out with you at night I feel like that gives the wrong message, I want to go on a date with you in the light of the sun outside of this hospital" he grabs my hands "Cherry will you go on a date with me" "yes"

Jake's POV

"can you please cover for Cherry" I explained the whole date plan to Lottie so she can help us escape in the morning which is normally the time the nurses always check up on her "no its too dangerous what if she needs the nurses and I could loose my job" she says "please I am begging you, I'll get on my knees you do not understand how much it will mean to me, I just want to give Cherry what she deserves, I-I like her way more then I thought I was capable of so please Lottie do not do it for me do it for her" I say she glares at me and rolls her eyes "fine but I want her back in that room before the sun goes down and if you guys get caught I did not know a thing" she says "thank you so much I could kiss you" I say "do not get your dirty lips near me"

Finally the day comes for me to take Cherry out. I bought Cherry a dress to wear and she loved it almost refused to keep it because of how nice it was but after sneaking out of the hospital I took her to get a coffee and we started our walk in a park. Children running around playing, people having family picnics, others playing board games on the ground and some also there to simply take a walk and enjoy the beautiful scenery of tall trees, flowers, berry bushes and the bright sun shining. I hold Cherry's hand happily embracing her presence shes talking about how she thinks coffee should always be either really hot or iced cold nothing in between. She looks so happy the sun makes her cheeks turn a bit red I do not think I have ever seen her look so beautiful. "do you agree" she asks after finishing her rant about coffee "I am not a coffee drinker but I am sure your right" I say she smiles "Of course I am right" she says confidently.

As we continue walking and having many light hearted conversations we take a seat at a bench under a tree. "It's so nice out here, the flowers, the birds, the sun..... your friends?" she says "my friends" I question she looks just as confused as I. I look in the same direction as her and see infact the 6 idiots trying to hide behind a bush across from us a few feet away. we walk over to them "what are you guys doing" I ask "do you think he found us" "shut up before he hears you" I roll my eyes "I already hear and see you guys" I say they all slowly stand up "it was Sunghoon's idea" Sunoo immediately confesses "seriously" Sunghoon says "why are all of you following us" I ask "Sunghoon said we should come and make sure your date goes good" Jungwon says "and you all thought that was a good idea" I say they all nod Cherry laughs "do you all want to join us, were getting lunch soon" Cherry offers "do we" Heeseung says pulling Cherry away towards our car "we are starving" Jay says following "that was a long walk you two did not seem to stop food would be amazing" Ni-Ki says nudging me to go as I stand there trying to process how quickly things changed.
