Katherine was patching up another slicer when she heard yells for help. Katherine frowned. " I'll be right back," Katherine told the boy, patting his shoulder before running after the sound. She saw Thomas running... from Ben. " Shit!" Katherine shouted and sprinted towards them as Ben tackled Thomas on the ground. She passed Newt, grabbed a shovel from his hands, and ran over Ben and Thomas. She hit Ben hard with the shovel, making him roll away from Thomas. Katherine froze and the shovel fell from her hands. " Hold him down" Newt ordered as he went to hold him down. " Calm down," Gally said to Ben. " What are you doing?" Newt asked the boy who was struggling against them. Katherine backed away a little and her little brother ran towards her. Rick grabbed the girl's hands softly into his. " Calm down, Ben" Gally said again. " Yo, what the hell happened?" Frypan, who was also holding Ben down, asked. " He just attacked me!" Thomas told them. " You okay?" Chuck asked Thomas. Katherine squeezed Rick's hands, watching the scene in front of her. " Calm down, Ben" Gally said, this time more calmly. " No, no, no" Ben started to struggle again when he saw Alby. " Lift his shirt" Alby ordered. " I didn't mean it!" Ben said. " Lift his shirt!" Alby ordered again. They lifted his shirt. Only to see a wound, with veins spreading on his stomach. He was stung. Katherine gasped a little. Tears forming in her eyes. Rick looked away from Ben, still holding his sister's hands.
" No, no, please. Please" Ben pleaded. " He's been stung," Gally said, pointing out the oblivious. " In the middle of the day?" Gally asked, looking at Alby who crouched down next to him. " Help me, please. Please. Please, just help" Ben cried out. " Put him in the pit" Alby ordered as he stood up. " No. No!" Ben started to struggle again. " Med-Jack!" Newt called out. Clint and Jeff went to help them, Jeff sent Katherine a look to make sure she was okay before they walked away. Katherine covered her ears, so she couldn't hear Ben. Alby walked past her and patted the girl's back softly. " Kath, hey. It's okay" Rick whispered to his older sister. " No, no it's not. They're going to banish him" Katherine whispered and stormed off. Rick didn't follow her. He only watched as she walked away.
Later that day, all the keepers had their poles in their hands and were now in front of the entrance to the maze. Katherine was standing a few steps away from them. " Just listen to me. Just, please, listen to me. Please, Minho" Ben panted as Minho walked with him towards the entrance. " Alby!" Ben growled as they walked past the first in command. Minho made Ben kneel and with a knife, he cut the rope that was holding his hands. " No, no, please. Please don't. Please don't do it" Ben cried. Minho looked at Alby, and the boy nodded. Minho threw a bag into the maze as the walls started to rumble. Minho made a small eye contact with Katherine, who sent him a small smile. " Poles" Alby shouted an order when a wind started to pick up. The keepers raised their poles towards Ben. Katherine saw Chuck leave, and she was glad that he did since Ben was the kid's best friend. " Move in" Alby ordered. The keepers started to move more towards the maze. Ben was pleading and pushing the poles away, but he was without a chance. " Push him in!" Alby gave them another order. The last thing before the entrance closed was Ben screaming for help. When the doors closed, Katherine looked at Minho. " He belongs to the maze now," Alby said sadly and walked away, the others following him.
Katherine walked towards Minho, who was still next to the entrance. " Minho" Katherine whispered as she looked at him. Minho looked back at her. He didn't say a word and he only wrapped his arms around her waist. Katherine was a bit surprised but hugged him back. " Alby and I will go to the maze in the morning" Minho whispered into her ear. " Alby?" Katherine asked. " Yeah, we have to check something out" Minho nodded. " Okay" Katherine whispered and pulled him closer to her
