With Gemma being more friendly than Eve, she got invited to A LOT of parties. Like the one that night, that she tried to convince Eve to go to. They texted about it while Eve ate dinner. Gemma said:
G: You should totally come!! It'll be a BLAST!!
E: I'm good! I'm not really into that thing. Besides, I'm almost done with my book!
G: LAMEEEEEEE!!! Come on!! Just tonight!!!! Your mom won't even know!!! And you can leave at a stupidly early time!!! Just come for like an hour!! Socialize!!
E: No thank you!! I'm going to enjoy my ppl free home!
G: Seriously?!?! Danny's going!!
E: So?
G: SOOOOO! He could give you a ride!!! And you could help me get him!
E: I'm good! The last thing I want is to show up to a party with Danny Monter!! No thank you!
G: UGHHH! You are no help! Whatever! I gotta go! Bye!
E: Bye!
Eve put down her phone and picked up her book, determined to read the last 150 pages tonight. Just as she was settling in Danny came out of his room. He was in fancy, black shorts. And I white button down shirt, with the top two buttons undone.
"I didn't realize the party was so fancy." She jabbed.
"It's not! But when you've got rich parents, everyone expects you to look nice! And besides, the ladies love it!" He said with a smirk. She rolled her eyes and went back to her book.
Later, when Eve was 10 pages away from finishing her book, her phone started blowing up. It was Gemma:
G: What an asshole!! You were right!!!! He's so stupid! How could I ever have seen anything in him?!?!
E: What?
She asked, confused about what was going on.
G: Danny!! I told him I liked him!!! And asked if he wanted to hang out sometime!!! And he fucking turned me down!!!!
E: Oh. I'm so sorry. He's a real dick. I tried to warn you.
For some reason she was smiling as she said it. Like she wasn't truly sorry. But then she stopped.
G: I know. But I just thought... He seemed so interested!
E: Yeah, he does that. But he's a jock! It's the way they are! Don't worry about it. It has nothing to do with you!
G: Yeah, your right! Thanks! Goodnight!
E: Night!
Eve put down her phone and tried to go back to her book. But she just couldn't find the energy. Her brain just kept thinking about Danny and why he had turned down Gemma. She couldn't figure it out. He really had seemed interested at the assembly, but maybe it was all just a joke. A dare or something. She was still pondering it when Danny walked in. Eve jumped up and marched into the kitchen to confront him.
"You are quite a special kind of ass, you know!" She shouts at him. He jumps and spins around, looking at her in surprise.
"Jesus! You scared the crap out of me!" He says looking like a deer in headlights. "What are you doing? Isn't it past your bedtime or something?"
"Why'd you lead her on?" She says, still angry.
"What?" He looks around in confusion, clearly having no clue what she's talking about.
