Short mother and daughter fluff in apology for the angst 😋

------------------------------------------------------

Ashlyn Banner is not a child anymore. She's a mature teenager, who is still afraid of.. thunderstorms. She hated them with all her might. Ever since she was 2, the thunder just kept screaming at her, and the lightnings were too bright. It even sounded like they had strike next to her due to her ears' sensitivity.

She would always go to her parents' room and  cuddle up to them. But now, she wanted to prove herself that she's a big girl now.

Big girls don't curl up under their blankets and hug their knees close to their chest, but that's exactly what she's doing.

The thunder was too loud, that she didn't even notice someone entering her room, until she felt a pressure on the side of her bed. Ashlyn slightly raised the blanket that was covering her to look up, only to see her mother.

“Mom?” Ashlyn spoke, her eye brows raising. Emma smiled at her, before asking “Are you having trouble?”.

Ashlyn shook her head. “No.. I'm not..” She muttered, but it was clear that she was lying. Emma sighed, as she pats the space next to her. Ashlyn reluctantly got up, pulling off the blanket as she sat next to her mother.

“It's alright to call for me or your dad, you know” Emma said softly, as she gently held her daughter's shaking hand. “Thunderstorms are loud, after all. So it's reasonable for you to call us” Emma added.

Ashlyn looked at her mother, their eyes meeting. Ashlyn really wanted to just hug her mother. She wanted to hear her mother's soothing words, comforting her.

Suddenly, a loud lightning striked, followed by thunder. Ashlyn jolted and immediately clung to the nearest person, her mother.

Emma was also startled, by the thunder and her daughter rapidly clinging to her. But she did not refuse, even the slightest. Emma grabbed Ashlyn's headphones, before putting them over her head. Her fingers started to run down her long hair, as she whispered to her daughter. “You're okay.. mama's here, I got you..”

Ashlyn couldn't help but melt at the embrace and comfort from her mother. She leaned her head on her shoulder, as she listened to her mother's whispers. They were comforting for her to hear. Her mother's touch was delicate and gentle, and she couldn't help but just let herself be hold by her mother.

The thunderstorm was getting louder, but Ashlyn did not notice it. All she could hear was her mother's words.

Sooner, Ashlyn found herself starting to drift off to sleep, as evident by her eyes slowly starting to droop.

She closed her eyes, as she lets her mother hold her, knowing that she's safe in her mother's arms.

Maybe she'll stick with being a little kid around her parents.

I'm sobbing, there's barely even enough fics of Ash and her parents, or the others with their parents

I'm standing up for justice and glory ✊
