Chapter 4

Lloyd pov

(Starts about a minute before the last chapter)

I hitch a ride on the back of the train of sorts that the prisoners were loaded onto. I waited for the train to get up to speed before vaulting to the roof and quickly dispatching a guard.

As I went to open the hatch of the train car where the two prisoners were being held, two more guards approached me, swords drawn. I kicked the first one off the train before he could identify me, but the second one was another story. I looked up at him right as he recognized me.

"Wait, no way, aren't you-"

I cut him off, literally, and sent him to join his friend.

Busting the locks was an easy process, and I soon had the hatch open.

There were two teenagers in the train car, they glanced at each other, and one of them looked up at me and muttered:

"The Green Ninja," as if he couldn't believe what he was seeing. "Wait, Lloyd I knew you were all still out there! This is amazing!"

I quickly glanced around the interior of the train car, looking for the person I saw earlier.

"Where's the Ninja? The one doing Spinjitzu on the bridge." I said urgently. It was imperative we get out of here as soon as possible.

The two glance at each other and the girl says:

"Actually, that was Arin here" she gestured towards him with her cuffed hands.

"Wait, it's that kid? How did he even- what?!"

"And even though I might pass out right now now because you thought I was a real ninja, I'm not even close," says the kid, Arin apparently.

I swear I need to be more mindful of what's around me; one of the guards who somehow managed to stay on the train snuck up behind me and knocked me down into the train car.

I shoulder rolled to break my fall and immediately drew my dao.

"Some of these guys just don't know when to quit"

He faced me and drew his own sword, charging. I dodged his attacks and used Spinjitzu to knock him back.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw the girl say to Arin: "I kinda get your Ninja fandom now."

I chuckled to myself. "Hold up your cuffs." They glance at each other and quickly oblige.

I dodge the guard's attacks once more, this time deflecting his sword so it fell down on Arin's cuffs, slicing them off. I then grabbed my opponent by the arm and swung him around, simultaneously slicing through the girl's cuffs. I then used the momentum to launch the guard into the wall of the train car. I sheath my dao and turn to the kids.

"That is my mask, right?" I say to Arin, who had been holding what appeared to be my old mask.

He haded it to me. "I- I found it when you disappeared... I was there when the merge happened," he said, handing me the mask, "you rescued me and I kept-"

I cut him off mid-sentence

"Ugh- when did you last wash this?"

"Wait, you can wash them?" He seemed genuinely shocked, while the girl, who was standing behind him, facepalmed.

"Well, come on, I'll give you a boost." I said, clipping the mask to my belt and nodding to the opening in the roof of the train car.

Arin unclipped a hand held grappling gun from his own belt and used it to get out of the train car. "No need."

The girl sighs. "Show off."

I give her a boost, then jump up and meet them. The train was going quite fast, jumping was still an option, but at this point, it was going to be quite dangerous, not for me, but for the kids.

"What do we do now master Lloyd?" Asked Arin.

"Oh, I'm no master. Im just Lloyd," I look down off the edge of the train car, "and to answer your question, we jump."

"What- no! We can't leave the dragon!" Says the girl.

I honestly don't know how I forgot about the little creature, and I mentally facepalmed at the oversight.

Before I could think of a solution, my thoughts were cut off by a man and two more guards appearing on the next car down.

The man put his foot down aggressively and shouted: "No one escapes from Rapton!" He drew his sword.

I roll my eyes "Why do the bad guys always feel the need to talk in the third person?" I said rhetorically, and more to myself than anyone.

Two more guards appeared on the train car behind us, leaving us outnumbered and surrounded.

 Lloyd lied (kinda)

In this AU, he was able to sense Garmadon's presence, even as a kid.

He was referring to Riyu in a different way, seeing as Riyu is a dragon, and he was only able to sense Oni and their equivalent before this.
