Hello! Ok a few things... thank you so much to everyone who has voted and helped this story reach 1.07k in less than a month!
And next, I was looking at my stats the other day and I realised a LOT of you are in The states (32%) and other countries where the schooling is different from England's .So I'm going to try explain how it all works...
So kindergarten and grades 1-6 are in the same school. And then for grades 7-11 it's another school. And some schools include sixth form which is grades 12 and 13. Some schools don't and there are separate colleges for that. We start schooling at the age 4 and not 5 so if a kid is in 7th grade in America we would be in 8th.
GCSE's are examinations you take in year 11 after choosing the subjects you want to take in year 9. You have to take English, Math and Science and one extra curricular (photography, economics, politics etc). Your GCSEs determine what sixth form you'll get into as different schools have different requirements. A 4 is what you need to pass and 9 is the highest.
A-Levels are the examinations you take in Sixth Form that determine what university you'll get into and what your major will be. You decide what you want them to be.
Edit- I forgot tutor groups!
So tutor/mentor groups are basically your homeroom class. You have a mentor and around 30 students in your class. You have 25 minutes with them in the morning, with the main register. My school goes 7C-7L without 7I. (I was in 7C btw) So 9 classes but my friends school uses names like clothmakers.
Yeah I don't know about that.
In yr7, the first 2 weeks you have all of your classes with your tutor group. And then you get math sets and in yr8 English sets. And in yr10 you get science sets... just how my school works. And until yr9 subjects like drama, music, history you have with your tutor group.
I hope this helped... and thanks again for the support on this book! I will update soon it's just I still need to go through and edit!
I have some more news! Me and Piptheporqupine are cowriting a book! It's currently on my profile with nothing but the blurb... we will start getting chapters out soon but until then... tell me what you think of the blurb!
