'Oi! Damon!' Anthony hissed, poking his best friend with his pencil. Damon yelped causing their Maths teacher to stare at the boys in the back.
'Anthony James and Damon Fredericks, if I see either of you mucking about again it will be a 40-minute detention! I've seen Yr7 children better behave than you two who are about to go into Yr10.' she said as everyone in class turned around to stare at Anthony and Damon.
'You wanna walk out?' Anthony asked, grinning foolishly.
Damon smiled back, 'Can we bunk next lesson too? We have bloody Music with Mr. Parker.'
'For sure.' Anthony said as the duo began to pick up their bags. Ally looked up from her notes and stared at the two boys packing up their bags.
'Anthony, don't do it. Mr. James will kill you!' Ally said, causing them to catch a few a few onlookers.
'Mind your own business, glasses. First fix your relationship with your parents before coming onto us.' Damon snapped, instantly causing tears to Ally's eyes. Anthony looked at her and smiled before mouthing 'sorry.' He wouldn't tell anyone but he kinda had a crush on her.
Mrs Denver had stopped her lecture and had started to stare at the boys.
'Boys what do you think you're doing?' she asked, causing the whole class to begin staring at them yet again. Damon and Anthony continued stuffing things in their bags as they walked to the door.
'We're walking out, Miss. Would you like to come with? You look really tired.' Anthony said as Damon snorted. They didn't wait for her to respond and walked out of the classroom giggling.
'The Yr7 are better than you.' Damon mocked. 'She only says that cuz her son's in Yr7. I've seen that kid, he's terrifying.'
Anthony choked back a laugh as he nearly spluttered his juice everywhere - even though the school had a strict rule about no juice in their water bottles.
They literally sold juice in the canteen.
'You shouldn't have said that to Ally though.' Anthony said after composing himself. Damon shrugged as they sat down in a little hide out behind the science stairs.
'I guess.' Damon said before his eyes widened. 'Do you have a crush on her?'
Anthony instantly shook his head, 'Nope.'
'Yes you do!' Damon enunciated. 'I'm rude to nearly every single girl in our year and you don't bat an eye about it! And now you're telling me what I said was rude!
'Fine! I like her!' Anthony spluttered out as Damon grinned devilishly.
'Should I tell her?' Damon asked teasingly, punching his friend's shoulder.
'Please don't. What if she doesn't like me back? I see her every day after school cuz she's always at my house.'
Before Damon can respond to that a voice calls out, 'Damon Fredericks and Anthony James, get out of there now.'
It was Miss. Hamilton the old P.E teacher that everyone despised.
'What are you boys doing out of class?' She asked, hands crossed in front of her. The boys didn't say anything and just stared at each other. 'Do you have a pass?'
'No miss.' They chorused.
'Well then what lesson do you have now?' She questioned, as Anthony resisted the urge to just run.
'Music with Mr. Parker.' Damon replied, grimacing a bit.
Miss Hamilton huffed before gesturing for the boys to follow her. Looks like they were going to music with Mr. Bloody Parker after all.~~~~
'So when is the baby due?' Anthony asked as Damon carried a bucket of lime green paint into the nursery. To repay the favor of Damon and Sheila re-furbishing Anthony's apartment, he had offered to paint the baby's nursery as that was not a one-man job.
'2 months.' Damon replied bluntly, looking for paintbrushes. Anthony's eyebrows furrowed as he tried to read his best friend's face. Even though Damon was good at hiding it, Anthony had known Damon way too long to know he was hiding something.
'Have you thought of names?' Anthony tested, anxious on what response he'd receive. Damon continued rushing about the room, looking for useless things they wouldn't need to avoid Anthony's question.
'Where are the paper clips?' Damon muttered to himself, obviously avoiding Anthony's question.
'What's going on Damon?' Anthony demanded, all amusement gone from his voice. Damon turned to look at Anthony, before shrugging his shoulders.
'I tell my kids this all the time. Shrugging isn't going to answer my question.' Anthony said sternly as if he was talking to one of the triplets.
'I'm going to screw up Anthony! I'm not you! I don't know how to parent, I'm the sort of guy to give his best friend's children ice-cream at midnight! Or when they're older, get them fake licenses! I'm not cut out to be a parent.' Damon said, finally getting out all of his emotions. There it was. The reason Damon had been glum for the past few days.
'Damon, listen to me. Do you think I had any clue on what I was doing? No, of course not! But let me tell you something. I've seen you with my kids, they love their Uncle Damon more than anything. Maybe even more than me. You helped me and Ally so much when they were babies, even if you didn't get along with Allison. That kid will be lucky to have you as their father.' Anthony said, holding Damon by the shoulder. Damon nodded and wiped a tear that had fallen out of his eye. He never cried.
'And to answer your question, yes, we have thought of names.' Damon said, smiling a bit as Anthony turned around to begin to paint the walls. 'Jamie Eloise if it's a girl and Aaron James if its a boy.'
Anthony's head whipped around and stared at Damon's grinning face, 'After me?'
'Got to keep tradition going, you know.' Damon said as Anthony smiled a bit.
'Damon? I don't mind the ice-cream even though Cam's cough does keep me awake all night but please don't get my kids fake licenses.'
'I'll think about it.' Damon replied, smirking.
Anthony sighed before muttering something along the lines of, 'Remind me not to let my kids hang out with you alone ever again'
He then flicked a bit of paint onto Damon's turtleneck. Damon stared in disbelief at his jumper and then Anthony. Anthony knew exactly what Damon wanted to do so he ran. Damon's mouth opened before he quickly began to sprint after his best friend.
They ran through the garden and then through the kitchen before finally reaching the kitchen. Sheila was on the couch, reading her book.
Damon finally caught up with Anthony and jumped him before pinning him to the ground.
'Damon, leave Anthony alone.' Sheila said, not bothered a she flipped the page of her book.
'But he flicked paint over my jumper.' Damon whined, not letting his grip on Anthony go. Sheila raised her eyebrows at him and he begrudgingly let Anthony go. 'Yes miss.'
Sheila shook her head as they ran back into the nursery, Damon forgiving Anthony seconds later. 'In 2 months, I'm going to have a 6ft toddler with his best friend and a baby.'
