Y/N POV

I stare at Lizzie's father and he stares back at me, I glance at Lizzie who is staring at her father expectantly, "Liz honestly he doesn't-"

I start to stand from her couch but she pushes me down by my shoulders keeping me in place, but never looking at me, "Sit down Y/N."

I nod my head taking a breath in, "Yes ma'am." Keeping my ass rooted to the couch, awkwardly looking around.

"You need to apologize to her," Lizzie said and I side-eyed her but kept my mouth shut, I told her it didn't bother me what her father had said but she was adamant about him apologizing.

Her father finally took his eyes off of me, scoffing, "What do I need to apologize for? I'm just looking out for you Elizabeth. I mean I still don't understand why you left Robert, he was good for you."

I scratched the back of my neck, as Lizzie glared at him, "Good for me? I was miserable with him!" Her father faltered for a second.

"You could've worked it out. But you just end something the second it gets hard. Don't you?"

I pursed my lips, a soft gasp leaving my mouth, and I tried to stand again, "sit down." Goddamn, this woman is scary. Especially when she's angry, but it's kinda hot. Not the time.

"What is that supposed to mean?" She asked her voice dangerously calm and I drummed my fingers on my thighs, hating I was the cause of this- at least some of it.

"Boyd. He was good for you, but the second things started getting shaky you left him."

"It had nothing to do with the problems we were going through, Boyd and I would've never worked out anyway!"

"Because you didn't give him a chance. You met that British man and you ended it with Boyd just to jump in bed with him!"

My mouth fell open and I looked between the two of them, I was surprised steam wasn't coming from Lizzie's ears as she stared at her father I shrunk into the couch even though I knew her deadly gaze wasn't aimed toward me.

"Get the fuck out of my house!" I blinked and her father cleared his throat looking at me.

"You'll see she'll dump you the second shit gets hard." He said and I kept my face stoic, as Lizzie again yelled for him to go, and he finally did.

I toyed with my fingers and turned to her but she was rubbing her head, I opened my mouth and closed it not knowing what to say.

"He's such an asshole!" She shouted finally breaking the tense silence that loomed around us. "He doesn't know shit about- Boyd and me- or Tom he's a dick!"

"Liz.." I started but was cut off by her sending a sharp glare my way, I shut up, and her face softened and she sighed.

"I'm sorry. You didn't do anything wrong, he just piss me off, he doesn't know what he's talking about." I nodded opting to stay quiet not wanting to risk her getting upset.

She sat down across from me on the couch, her hands covering her face, she moved her hands looking at me, "I love you, you know that right?"

I was confused but nodded. "Yeah, I know. I love you too, why do you ask?"

"I'm not gonna leave you when shit gets hard between us, I mean you should know that by now, but I'm not going anywhere." I could tell she was getting worked up so I moved to sit next to her, wrapping my arm around her shoulder, kissing her forehead.

"I know that," I said immediately, I didn't believe shit her father said, I didn't have a reason to, I mean anything he said wouldn't make me leave my girl. I held her tight, and she sighed, and I rubbed her back. "I'm not going anywhere either," I assured her in a low voice and she wrapped her arms around me.

-

I was reading the book Lizzie got me, I had spent the night with her before leaving to pick up Calvin from the airport then I took him home and then went back to my place.

Lizzie was still upset with her father but that was expected. She told me he had never acted like this before and was usually the perfect father, but I didn't know what to say so I listened to her rants.

I told her I would give her some space, to think about everything. But she could call me or text me if she wanted to come over or if she wanted me to come over.

I flipped the page of my book a yawn leaving my mouth as I turned over on my couch so I was laying on my stomach, a yawn escaped my lips and I kept reading.

I stretched my arms, a satisfied groan leaving my mouth, then my stomach growled and I sighed, standing up bringing my book, and going into the kitchen I sat my book down on the island and went into my fridge getting out the food Lizzie had brought me.

I took off the tinfoil she wrapped it in put it in the microwave, bring the book to my side to continue reading as I waited for my food. When the microwave beeped I bookmarked the book and got up to grab the food.

I put the food next to my book, grabbed a cup from my cabinet, and poured myself a drink, sliding everything to a seat so I could sit and read, I was in the middle of taking a bite of macaroni when I heard my phone ringing from my game room and groaned.

"It's so far away," I whined looking in the direction of the room, I huffed and bookmarked my page closing it, and standing to go get my phone.

I knelt on the floor to grab it, it was only there because it fell from my pocket when I laid down and I was too lazy to pick it up, I saw Lizzie's name and I smiled, answering the call as I walked back to my food.

Her face filled my screen and I smiled, "Hey baby." She said and my smile widened as I sat down.

"Hey, lovey what's up?" I asked propping my phone up against my cup, noticing she was already in bed.

"I just- I missed your voice." She said and I saw her cheeks flush, "Is that weird?" She asked and I shrugged.

"I dunno, I guess, I mean we've so much time together lately. You know I took a nap earlier when I dropped Calvin off but I kept reaching to your side of the bed."

She smiled bashfully, and I took a bite of my food, "I had to wrap myself in the blanket because it still smells like you to get comfortable."

I laughed and shook my head, swallowing what was in my mouth, "oh my gosh we're terrible." She laughed but agreed.

"What're you doing?" She asked after letting out a yawn and I told her I was eating and reading, "Whatcha reading?"

"The book you got me," I said letting out a yawn, and she hummed, and I could see her eyes closing. "Are you tired?" I asked though I was sure I knew the answer.

"Just a little bit." She mumbled, and I chuckled, picking up my phone to take a sip of my drink, and then putting it back.

"Go to sleep, babe, I'll call you in the morning." She hummed a tired smile on her lips, "I love you."

"I love you too, goodnight."
