Thoughts: I like the difference between the cake scene in the book compared to the one in the movie. I like that they're not exactly the same. I think it is absolutely bonkers that the royal wedding cake cost $75,000. That cake probably cost more than my entire life. "Allergies: dust, Tide laundry detergent, and shutting the fuck up." That is my favorite quote of the whole book so far. That is so fucking funny and so me. I like how much more detail is in the book than the movie. I'm very glad I watched the movie before reading the book. If I read the book first and then watched the movie I think I would've been really disappointed in the movie. Alex's fear of the turkeys is hilarious to me. The way he called them demons had me cackling. The first kiss scene is just as good in the book as it is in the movie. That scene is a 10/10 no matter what format it's in. Dude the spicy scenes in this book are immaculate. They're so hot. They're not super detailed but you get the gist of it and it's so good. Chapter 9 ended on such a sad note. Why do gay romances always try to rip your heart out before they get to the happy ending. I love love love this book. The book is 100 times better than the movie. All the details in the book that aren't in the movie make the story so much better. This book is incredible. The only thing I don't like about it is how long the chapters are. Other than that it's perfect.
Long story short Casey McQuiston killed this book. Her writing style is so good. Definitely check this book out if you've been thinking about reading it.
