Summary:A visiting noble sees Merlin and Gwen together and assumes that they're having an affair
Third person's pov
"Merlin!" Gwen laughed as her best friend threw some water at her, getting her dress wet. Merlin laughed but started to run as the Queen's of Camelot followed in persuit. "I will get you back, Merlin. There's no point running away!" She called after him.Merlin could obviously use magic to escape. I wouldn't be hard, but he enjoyed the time he had with Gwen. It was far and few between that they could spend time together because of their duties, with Gwen being queen and Merlin's chores.
She caught up quickly, grabbing a random bucket of water and dumping it over him. "Hey, no fair!" Merlin protested, "I only got you a little wet."
"That 'little wet' is going to make me late for a session I have with the council. I can't go like this!" Gwen told him.
Merlin huffed before offering her his arm. She took at and they began to walk towards the castle, drops of water marking the way they went.Sir Archeus pov
I can't believe what I just witnessed. A servant and the queen. Acting as friends. At least, that's what I would believe if I hadn't seen the boy offer her his arm and her take it! I was sceptical when the king married a commoner but this just proves that I was right to be. I must alert Arthur at once.I marched into the throne room he was supposed to be in, to find him with the servant, the queen (who had changed into a different dress to hide the evidence, the servant clearly disnt have the time) and three knights. It was clear that they were about to go into the meeting with the council but what I had to say was more important than the sake of the small villages filled with peasants on the outskirts of the kingdom.
"Sir Archeus." The king greeted me. "What is the meaning of this?"
"Your majesty." I bowed. "My condolences that I have to inform you of such tragedy but you must be made aware of the treason that took place."
"What are you talking about?" Gweniveare interrupted me.
"I am talking about the affair you are having with this servant right here!" I yelled at her.Everyone took a step back from me, shocked at the revelation. Until, one of the knights drew his sword. "Gwen would never do such a thing. And that's my sister you are accusing, so back off." He said.
The knight next to him nodded. "We grew up together. She would never." He added.I looked to the third knight in hopes that he would back me up but he looked at me angrily. "And who do you think you are accusing Merlin of such a thing? He is the most loyal, amazing person and I don't appreciate you accusing him of betraying Arthur like that." He spat.
"Merlin is my friend." The queen stated. "We were servants together and he always stayed by my side. And for you to even think that I would do such a thing is terrible."
Now it was Arthur's turn to speak. "You barge in hear, accuse my wife of having an affair with my servant and not even think to ask someone in the castle? I've heard enough from you. You are dismissed." He turned away from me and walked off. The others followed, except the servant.
Suddenly, he burst out laughing. "What's so funny boy?" I spat at him.
"Nothing, nothing." He wiped the tears from his eyes and joined the rest while I sat there dumbfounded.Merlin's pov
I wonder how he would react if he knew Gwen had kissed me before. I wonder how Arthur would react. Then again, he can't really say anything, or he'd be a hypocrite. After all, I'd kissed Gwen, him and Gwaine before.Admittedly, Gwen thought I had just died and come back to like, with I did, Arthur was a dare and Gwaine and me were very drunk. Still, it's the principle.
