CHAPTER TEN,
curiousity killed the cat.

MUSIC BLARED THROUGHOUT CHALUAI'S ROOM. Different colored nail polishes were scattered on the girl's rug, taking up half the space. Unique scented face masks were spread out on the bed to be picked, the options being limitless. Takeout boxes had taken up the storage on Lu's vanity. Now this, was a slumber party.

Humming the lyrics to Norman Fucking Rockwell, Lu twirled the girl's strand of hair around the curling iron for a couple of seconds before releasing it.

"How are you so good at this," Dovie questioned, turning her head in awe to admire her newfound ringlets. "I burn myself every time."

"To be honest, a lot of practice," she replied, setting the curler down and running her fingers through the hair. "What song next," Lu asked the girl in front of her, picking up her phone.

The Wong girl swiped through her notifications, revealing many missed calls from Robby. Lu hadn't spoken to him ever since that day at the All Valley. News broke out that Cobra Kai won, meaning Miguel was victorious against her (former?) best friend. However, she wasn't proud, being informed that they prevailed dirty.

Even though she was worried about the boy, she still couldn't get her mind off their latest conversation. The words coming from his mouth had stuck to her brain, not forgetting how it made her do a double take.

You're just jealous.

Lu was clearly not over it. Honestly, how could she be? Everyone noticed a sudden change in the girl's behavior, skeptical of why she was mute these past few days. Obviously, the girl reassured everyone that everything was fine, not wanting to bore people with her complicated feelings about the boy she liked. Hence why she didn't pick up the phone, she was ignoring him big time.

As she was picking out the next song to play from her playlist, the phone rang in her hands, causing her to roll her eyes and sigh before clicking the decline button yet again. Lu set down the phone, finishing the last section of Dovie's hair.

"Okay Lu, the jig is up," her friend blurted, raising her arms. "This is like the tenth time someone has called you this evening and you've had that same reaction."

Dovie reenacted Lu's demeanor, picking up her phone and pretending like someone was calling her, only to roll her eyes and sigh like Lu just did. "Who the hell is getting that silent treatment?!" Dovie exclaimed, turning her full attention to her friend.

Lu set the curling iron down yet again, crossing her arms in frustration. "Honestly D, it doesn't matter," the girl responded, shrugging her shoulders hoping her friend would just let the topic go. "I'm going downstairs, you want a drink?"
