CHAPTER ELEVEN,
all eyes on her.⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯
LU OBSERVED THE RESTAURANT SHE AND HER FRIENDS WERE CURRENTLY AT. Waiters had been seating people at their tables, taking orders on their notepads, and placing food on top of tabletops. The girl just sat there, fidgeting with her menu. Chaluai was conflicted, and the cheers coming from her table weren't helping her case.
"It was supposed to be a round of drinks," Aisha started, speaking to her live. "But the waitress was not feeling Hawk's fake ID."
Hawk turned his head quickly, replying to the girl. "Hey, don't talk about that. My parents follow you."
On one side of the booth sat Miguel on the outer who had gone off to a different table, Lu in the middle, and Demetri on the inner. Sat on the other side was Aisha on the outer, Dovie in the middle, and Hawk on the inner. The table had just ordered appetizers, celebrating their triumph.
"Sorry, Mr and Mrs. Moskowitz." Aisha apologized while Lu smiled at the phone lightly, waving at the parents who could be watching. "Anyways, until next time, no mercy, bitches."
Lu reached over for a chip, still remaining silent amongst the group and peeking at Miguel every so often.
Demetri spoke up, "I gotta say, it's nice to be at a victory party."
"Yeah, except you had nothing to do with the victory," Hawk said, grabbing Demetri's chip.
"Well, then I consider it a belated party for the coding competition we won at computer camp. Remember?"
Demetri then started singing the theme song of him and Eli being binary brothers. He looked to the side of him, realizing he had made Lu and everyone except Hawk at the table laugh before laughing himself.
Hawk looked around, making his eyes go back to Demetri. "Cool it with the nerd shit, huh?"
"Cool it with the 'now that I got a mohawk i'm better than my friends' shit," Lu retaliated, making brief eye contact with Eli. "The act is tiring."
"Lu," Dovie cautioned, lifting her brows as if Lu said something wrong. The girl rolled her eyes at the blonde, beginning to play with her hands. "Has anyone seen Miguel?"
"Yeah, where is he? His wings are getting cold," Aisha added, causing Lu to exit the booth with his wings moving herself towards her friend who had been looking at his phone in stress. The chestnut-haired girl just wanted to get far away from that table, getting annoyed with Hawk.
Dovie watched the girl walk over, slightly squinting her eyes. She kept her full focus on them, watching as Lu set down the wings before smiling softly at the boy while they started to converse. The blonde's curiosity ran high once again, averting her attention back to the table.
