-grumbot... simply grumbotIt has been. 3. Whole. Months. Grian couldn't take it anymore.
He thought Mumbo going to work on his project was fine. He'd be back soon enough. But apparently 3 months was way too long for the Hermit.
Grian found himself thinking about Mumbo all the time. No matter what he did, who he was with his thoughts always circled about his missing best friend.
Some days were worse than others. Some days Grian couldn't even motivate himself to join the other hermits in pranks.
Today was one of those days.
"Griannnn?" A voice sung out, keeping a high and positive pitch. Grian groaned, holding the tie he stole from Mumbo's base tight and close to his chest. At this point he had cried all his tears for the day and now was just under the covers of his bed, numb.
With no luck getting a response from Grian, the Hermit broke down the door as quietly as he could (sorry G!) and made his was to Grian's bedroom.
"Hey G-man," he walked over to the edge of Grian's bed, slowly lifting the covered to reveal the curled up figure of Grian.
The winged Hermit opened his eyes, glancing up at the softly smiling Scar. "Hi Scar," his voice was quiet and honestly made Scar feel even more upset for him.
"Came to check on my buddy," he reached a hand forward, grabbing Grians free hand that wasn't clutching the tie and held it firmly but gently at the same time. "You should come out. The sun will help."
Silence followed for a moment before a quiet response. "But if I go out, I admit that he's not back yet. Scar... why isn't he home yet?"
Scar swore he could feel his heart break slightly. "Oh Grian, love." Scar, in his very Scar way, pulled Grian close- who then proceeded to start crying once again. He just held the smaller Hermit as he shuddered, whispering reassuring words into him ear.
Soon he calmed, just hugging Scar back now. "Feeling better now G?"
Grian nodded, wiping his eyes quickly and taking a deep breath. "Th-Thankyou Scar. You're the best. In fact, beyond the best."
"Well you deserve the best Grian."
Grian decided to take it upon himself to sit up, running his hands through his hair in an attempt to fix the mess. Scar wouldn't call it a mess, in his opinion it made the other hermit look quite cute.
"Can we head outside?" Grians request surprised the latter, causing him to pause for a moment.
"Uh- oh yeah!" Scar jumped to his feet, snatching up both of Grian's hands and essentially skipping out of his base, however he made sure to use the side exit that faced Scarland so that Grian wouldn't see.. his base.
"Cmon Grian! I shall take you on a magnificent tour of Scarland! Where magic and wonder fuellll the park!" Scar was quite pleased when he saw a genuine smile begun to spread across Grian's face.
"Tickets please!"
"Scar," Grian let out a small giggle. "I don't have a ticket!"
"Hmmmm. I suppose I'll have to let you in on a VIP pass!" He announced, dragging the other down an unblocked lane into the park.
When Grian looked around he could more than comfortably say that Scarland was BIG. It was in no way a tiny feat. The buildings lining the initial walk in were all created in such intricate details that even an advanced builder usually would've brushed over. The vibe of the base was incredible, whimsical and astounding. And standing all mighty in the distance was the Jellie Castle.
"Cod Scar-" all Grian could do was stare and do multiple 360's.
"Now it's not quite finished yet but we'll get there one day! Now shall I give you the proper tour."
The rest of the afternoon was spent eating food, admiring builds and petting Jellie (fly high gorgeous).
Once the sun had set Grian turned to Scar. "Thankyou so much Scar! This was more than I could've asked for at the moment."
"Anytime G, anytime."
An awkward silence wrung out which was quite quickly filled by Grian coughing awkardly. "Welllll I'll be off then.. goodbye Scar!!!" And with that the hermit activated his elytra and flew off, leaving a quite happy Scar standing there.
As Grian flew back to his base he thought. Though he was in a happy mood he couldn't help thinking of Mumbo as he neared his base. Without another thought, Grian dropped down into the whole below his base, arriving at his robot son.
"Grumbot, where's Mumbo?" He may of asked this question many times but it didn't hurt to try... right?
After a moment and a few beeps and boops a piece of paper was spat out of the dispenser:
GRUMBOT DOESN'T KNOW WHERE DAD N.2 IS
Grian sighed, sinking to the floor in defeat, his after of fun and the happiness it gave him slowly drifting away. And then something happened that never has happened before- Grumbot spat out another response.
SUMMON DAD 2
Summon him? What did that mean. For a moment Grian just stared at the paper in his hands, wracking his brain for an answer when it hit him.
And the answer is quite simple really.
