After what Ryan said, I suddenly remembered the most common thing between Alara and me: our father and this incident, which I had forgotten after spending some peaceful days in my second life. It was one of the reasons I attempted suicide.

My name was Iraa in the past. One day, just like this, we were sitting together happily, and then, with just one message, my whole world came crashing down.

My body started to shiver after hearing those screams. I knew the pain of Alara and Ryan, how everything felt like a lie. I understood how Ryan was feeling, how desperate he was to ask so many questions.

"HOW CAN YOU DO THIS? WHY? WHY?" Duchess Rewan was holding the Duke's collar and screaming loudly.

After regaining my consciousness and calming myself down, I resolved not to be like my past self. I would not live the pathetic life Alara had. I didn't care whether I lived or died, but I would not live a regretful life.

Duke Rewan: "Alara, please tell your mother that I am sorry."

Alara: "Why? Handle it on your own."

Duke: "You are my daughter. Tell her to understand that I am sorry."

Alara: "What the—"

Duke: "Did you just swear?"

Alara: "Nah, it’s just the frightening situation."

Duke: "Whatever, tell her."

Alara: "Huh? Why? What’s her fault? WHY DOES SHE NEED TO UNDERSTAND? IT WAS YOUR FAULT! SHE DOESN’T NEED TO UNDERSTAND; WHAT YOU DID IS WRONG, NOT THE WAY SHE IS REACTING TO IT."

Without even realizing it, I spoke out what I had wanted to say in the past and ran towards my room. This was the beginning of the family’s ruin.
