After I came back to my senses, I looked around Alara's room. It was not described in the story, which also calmed me down, believing that this was reality.

*KNOCK KNOCK*

**Alara**: Who’s there?

**Sarena**: Lady Alara, I am Sarena, your lady-in-waiting.

**Alara**: I know. Come in.

**Sarena**: Duke Rewan calls for you, my lady.

**Alara**: Okay, then lead the way. (Duke Rewan is Alara's father.)

**Sarena**: Duke, Lady Alara is here.

**Duke Rewan**: Let her in.

**Alara**: *Sighs* … I don’t expect anything. Let’s get this over with.

**Duke Rewan**: Alara, my daughter.

**Duchess Rewan**: Alara, you are here. I was waiting for you.

I looked at both of them. They looked very happy, just a perfect couple. But in this world, nothing is perfect. Just by looking at them, I was reminded of my parents. They showed me warmth and kindness, which felt so good after a very long time. The sound of the curtains rustling because of the wind, Alara's parents' kindness and love, their happy faces—this peace was all too perfect to believe.

*BANG*—The door slammed.

**Alara**: (Ryan, Alara's younger brother)

**Ryan**: Duke Rewan, how could you do this to us? How could you do this?

**Duchess Rewan**: Ryan, that’s not the way to talk to your father.

**Duke Rewan**: What happened, son?

**Ryan**: You’re asking what happened? Drop that act of yours!

**Alara**: What happened? Tell us why you’re acting like this.

**Ryan**: This father of ours, and Mom, your husband, has been cheating on you for a whole damn year.
