Death. A concept that terrified others. Maybe it was because of how they will die or when or the unknown knowledge of if there's an afterlife. Those were some of the many reason that death may scare people.
But for some others... The idea seems.. Tempting. It's usually for those who are at rock bottom and the only way out is death. Maybe it's the promise that every will receive when it's their time to be blessed with the sweet release of death. Death is more merciful to man than man is to each other.
This is a thought that often crept into the back of Earth's mind. He's been close to death. Four times actually. Collison. Asteroid impact. Attempted suicide. Revolution. Part of him is grateful that he was shown mercy and that others cared enough to help him, even when he didn't help them in first place. The other part of him feels like he didn't deserve it.
Why should he be shown mercy when he hadn't given it. He brought others down because of his own insecurities. He caused a whole uprising. He pointed out others insecurities. He mocked. He gloated. He was ignorant. Why was he given a free pass? Because others pity him? Because he was close to ending it all?
Why would they care? They shouldn't. Why care for someone who has never done something to help others up. Did he deserve a second chance? Is he ever going to get better?
Deep down, he wishes he could've ended it. To end the suffering he's caused others. Maybe to see if that would fix anything.
The idea of death was just so... Tempting...
