The morning light blinded Venus from the window as he walked into the kitchen. God, he hated mornings. As usual, the other three were in the kitchen.
"Morning, princess" Earth greeted, too busy to meet Venus's gaze, he was currently doing something on his phone. Venus grumbled and made his way over to the kitchen counter. He grabbed a cup from the cabinet. He was going to make some coffee, but didn't really feel like making it so he settled on tap water for now.
When he turned around so he could go back to his seat, he noticed the others were all looking at him weird. Venus, who was obviously very uncomfortable about that, he shifted awkwardly under their gazes. "What. What are you looking at?"
"You wear glasses?!"
Oh. Right. Venus felt his cheeks flush in slight embarrassment "Yeah, I ran out of contacts this morning," he said casually as he made it back to his seat. Mars gave him a weird look, his jaw hanging half open "How long have you had classes?" Mars questioned. Venus thought for a moment. He's needed them since he was... What? A teen? So quite a while. "A while now. I just prefer to wear contacts" Venus answered, taking a sip of his water.
Venus glanced over at the seat next to him, where Mercury sat. "What?"
Mercury quickly looked away and immediately started to fidget with his hands "Oh, nothing! Just that uh.." Mercury trailed off for a moment.
"You kind of look like Jupiter... Just a little!"
The room was filled with silence before Earth let out a snort "Oh my god, he does!" Earth snickered. Venus scowled. Great. Mars grinned "Now that you mention it-" "Don't." Venus warned. Mars held his hands up "Okay, relax, carrot top. No need to blow a fuse" "Excuse me?!"
Venus could feel his temper flare, he set his glass down and before he could retort back, a small hand planted itself on his knee. He glanced over to see Mercury giving him a stern look. Venus huffed and settled back down.
Earth smacked Mars's shouldered "Can it you two. If you're going to fight like girls, take it somewhere else" Earth looked back at Venus "But they do have a point, you do look a bit dorky" Earth giggled "Are you serious?! This is why I wear contacts!" "Does that mean you're actually smart now?" Mars taunted. "I guess it does" Venus deadpanned "And I can actually see those bite marks on your neck much clearer now too. Yeah, I noticed those, dumbass"
Earth straitened his posture and quickly glanced off to the side as Mars flushed a deep shade of red. Venus grinned "Not that I really car anyway, if you two wanna knock each other out, go ahead" "How about we just talk about something else?" Mercury jumped in.
An awkward silence fell over the room, until it was broken by Earth saying "I mean, Mars did knock me out cold" "THEY DO NOT NEED TO KNOW THAT."
Venus tried hard to not let the smile spread across his face, while Mercury erupted into a fit of laughter. Mars glared at them. "If only Mars was like that with me, I guess he can show love" Venus said, glaring at the other man as well.
Earth scoffed "Okay, we get it. You two dislike each other"
Another silence fell over the room.
Mars coughed the word "Dork" under his breath. Venus slammed his hands on the table "WANNA PIECE? I'LL GIVE YOU A FUCKING PEACE"
"Oh shit-" Earth grinned, reaching for his phone. "Venus!" Mercury almost yelled "Get off the damn table!"

Like I said before, many times. Sorry if this sucked. My writing skills are suffering really bad rn and writer's block is still being brutal
I really struggle with writing dialogue so if you have any tips on how to improve that, it will be greatly appreciated
Just thought I'd give you something and if you couldn't tell, Mars and Venus are exes who hate each other's guts
Also, have another fic in the works that I'll HOPEFULLY stick too, won't post until I at least have a few chapters written and I will bully myself into finishing it (you guys can too if you want)
