Aru dreaded Saturday, because it was the day of Poppy Lopez's party and she only knew 2 people who were coming.

"Are you excited, Aru?" asked Kara, wiggling her eyebrows.

Aru rolled her eyes, "It's going to be the boring-est thing ever, Kara! Can you please come with me?"

"Oh no, no," said Kara. "I can't interrupt you and Aiden-"

"Can you not?" asked Aru. "I already told you that it's not happening."

"His parents were actually really messed up for that," said Kara. "I mean, who does that to their kid?"

"I know!" exclaimed Aru. "But can you help me pick out something for today?"

Kara smiled and opened Aru's closet. She shuffled through lots of clothes, digging things out from god knows when.

"I really didn't ask you to bust down my closet," said Aru.

"Well, I'm glad I did," said Kara, pulling out an outfit. "This is what you're wearing tonight."

Suddenly, Aru found herself in a dark blue v-neck sweater and cream coloured cargos. To accessorise (which Kara insisted on doing) she wore a gold thunderbolt necklace, a gift from her second favourite uncle, Indra, and matching gold earrings.

"I think you're set," said Kara, smiling at her sister.

Aru sighed, "Thank you, Kara."

"You're very welcome," she replied.

Just then, Kara's phone rang, the Harry Potter theme song ringing out. She looked at the contact and grinned before leaving the room and picking up the call.

Aru smirked, because she knew exactly who it was.

She pressed her ear up against Kara's now closed bedroom door, and heard giggles mixed with really cringy love language.

Aru sighed before looking down at her own phone, her wallpaper and the time flashing back at her.

She smiled at her wallpaper.

It was the one time Mini agreed (A.K.A was forced) to ditch school with Aru and Brynne, who skipped religiously. They'd snuck out of their classes, all with the same excuse–the washroom. They met up at the dirty washroom which all of them refused to use because of Mini's preaches of E.coli , Salmonella and other noroviruses that are found in public restrooms and somehow escaped through the side door that only the custodians used.

Of course, they were eventually caught by two kids from their school who were also skipping, got in trouble, and all of them got scolded very badly by their parents/guardians.

Therefore, it was Aru's wallpaper.

"Aru are you okay?" asked a voice being her.

She turned around to see Krithika Shah. "I'm fine mom. How are you?"

Her mom's eyebrow rose suspiciously before responding; "I'm okay. When are you leaving for your party?"

"In 20," said Aru, looking at the time.

"Send me the address," said Krithika. "I'll drive you."

Before she knew it, Aru Shah was in the car with her mom, driving to Poppy Lopez's place, where the party was hosted.

They soon pulled up to a large modern house and Aru was not surprised.

Poppy's house was a big, modern style house with a flat roof and large tinted windows contributing to its sleek, classy aesthetic.
