4 days later...

"Is a talent show really necessary?" asked Aru, glaring at the entrance of the auditorium.

"It's an opportunity for people to showcase their interests and passions," said Mini. "I think it's an enjoyable event."

"Shah, just admit you're mad you couldn't dance," said Brynne, biting into the winning s'mores cheesecake she made.

"Shah? Dancing?" asked someone behind them.

The group of three turned around to see Arielle Reddy and Poppy Lopez.

Mini sighed, "Leave her alone, Poppy."

"Really, Mini, I don't know why you're friends with her, when you have a cousin like me," said Poppy.

"You know very well why I'm not friends with you," said Mini, pushing up her glasses.

Poppy raised an eyebrow, "And why is that?"

"Remember the time you lied and cheated to do well on a test and I found out?" asked Mini. "You said that if I told anyone, you'd tell my dad I liked Rudy."

"That-That was a long time ago!" exclaimed Poppy. "And I didn't plan on telling tiyo anyway!"

"Sure," said Mini flatly.

"Back to you, Shah," said Poppy, turning to Aru. "You can't dance for your life! And if you pull up with your weird Indian dancing do you know what people are gonna say?"

"Hey!" exclaimed Mini. "Leave her out of this."

"That's grand coming from a person who's technically white," said Brynne.

"My grandpa is Filipino!" exclaimed Poppy. "How do you think me and Mini are cousins?"

"First of all," said Mini. "Your grandpa is my grandpa's brother, and your grandpa married a white woman."

"And your parents are white," said Aru.

"Shah," said Poppy menacingly. "Don't talk."

"What are you going to do about it?" asked Aru. "Throw me into Utumno?"

"Stop with the Lord of the Rings references," said Brynne, sighing.

"Absolutely not! They're timeless!" refuted Aru.

"You're such a geek, Aru," said Poppy.

"Says the kid who always wears her hair in a ballerina bun for no particular reason at all," said Aru. "By the way, how much gel do you even use on that?"

Poppy's face flushed with embarrassment.

Brynne let out a snort and Mini giggled.

Arielle sighed and tugged on Poppy's sleeve, "Let's go, Poppy,"

Poppy looked at Arielle and then at the three girls, "I'm gonna make sure you take that back, Shah." she said before taking Arielle's hand and walking away.

"Shah, did you just annoy Poppy to the point she literally left?" asked a voice.

The girls turned around to see Rudy and Aiden, staring at them in shock.

"To be honest, I'm impressed," said Rudy, walking towards Mini with open arms. Mini smiled before spraying him with her sanitizer, pulling him into an embrace.

Aru pretended to gag, "Please no public PDA! I've seen enough!"

"For real," said Brynne, smirking.

"What did you say to Poppy to make her walk away like that?" asked Rudy, changing topics.
