Song: Bored - Billie Eilish
Thomas saw the girl, accompanied by a doctor, walking in the hallway that lead to her room for what seemed like the 100th time. They'd lived in they facility together for years on end, yet they'd never talk.
Not that the brown haired girl ever even spared a look to Thomas. She'd walk to her room, or whatever room she was being led to without even glancing at him. Once, Thomas took notice of her eyes. They were empty, cold. Usually he could tell what someone was feeling from their eyes. The eyes were a window to the soul, and all that.
But he couldn't see anything through her eyes. Souless, cold, pure brown eyes with no feelings hidden behind them.
Thomas didn't know her name. He only knew she must have been around his own age, and that they were brought in the facility the same day. He'd seen her, it was the only time he ever saw her show emotion.
The boy knew that there were others kids captured by WICKED. He knew it wasn't just him, Teresa, and the strange girl. He'd seen two boys a few years ago. Newt and Minho. Well, that was before the implant surgery they did on him.
Ever since then, he hadn't seen anyone else but adults dressed in white lab coats, guards, Teresa and of course, the girl.
Whenever Thomas wasn't too caught up in his studies or whatever test Dr. Paige had put him through that day, he would sit up on his bed and think of the girl. He wondered if he'd ever get to meet her. He met Teresa eventually, so why not her? What was so special for the girl, was she more special than Thomas and Teresa?
Thomas knew that he and Teresa were different than they others, they were isolated for years on end, they weren't allowed towards the other kids Thomas knew were in the other floors. They weren't even supposed to know there were other kids. So it was him, Teresa, and the girl he didn't even know the name of.
It weirded him out, how her gaze always seemed so distant. How she'd never look in anything in particular. But what mostly weirded him out was the fact that he hadn't met her yet. And whenever they passed each other in a hallway or anything, she wouldn't acknowledge his presence.
Wouldn't even look at him for god's sake!
That's what frustrated him the most.
Didn't she feel lonely? Wasn't she in need of company of another child? A child that was going through the same things she were. He was sure of that. He was sure she was lonely, and that she had the same life as him.
A miserable one.
Sleep, eat, medical tests, school, repeat.
But Thomas had Teresa, and the knowledge that there were other kids in the building.
What did she have?
Well, her assigned doctor. Her teachers. Food. That's all Thomas could think someone so closed off and isolated as her could have to live for. Not that those things are things worth living for. He had Teresa, and that was barely enough.
But deep down, he knew ahe must have felt somewhat alone. No one could live without company, pure loneliness. When Thomas was alone in the first years at the lab, had been driving him crazy. How could she be so... okay with the entire situation? Maybe she wasn't, but hell he wouldn't know.
Thomas was going to help with the Maze. What about her? What was she going to help with? Maybe the girl would help Thomas and Teresa with their assigned projects! Thomas liked the sound of that. He didn't know why, but he had this feeling that she was crazy smart since they isolated her and didn't let her talk to anyone.
Either crazy smart. Either crazy.
Probably both.
She didn't seem sane though. There was this look in her eyes that scared him. Not just scared him, terrified him.
Overall she seemed friendly though!
He'd like to meet her someday, he wanted to meet her almost more than he had wanted to meet Teresa. Thomas really liked Teresa. She was his friend, his first ever friend in the shitty world he was born in. But she didn't have that look in her eyes that both frightened and intrigued Thomas.

"Winter, the answer to B is?" The teacher pointed on the board, and Winter had to resist the urge to yawn. Class had been so easy that day, she was almost falling asleep.
"Minus twenty two, miss." She replied, finally turning to look at her teacher with the most sickengly sweet smile ever. Oh how Winter wanted to be over with the class already. It was near afternoon and she had been having classes since 7AM.
"Correct.. again." The teacher Winter couldn't recall the name mumbled. She was a new one, and hadn't been used to the constant correct replies Winter would give. It always took some time for teachers to get over the fact that an eleven year old was smarter than them.
"I know." Winter said, her smile being replaced with a bored expression.
