 Layne Staley POV

I open my eyes and smile. The first thought that crosses my mind is Lily. I still think of her when I realize that Jerry and Mike are in my room staring at me with their arms crossed. "Did you accompany Lily? And then what did you do? Jerry asks me "Yes, I accompanied her. When I went out to have a cigarette she had also come out and asked me if I could take her home" I say. I hope they don't suspect anything. "And what did you do after? Did you go somewhere? Or have you returned home? Mike asks "You guys are interrogating me! After dropping Lily off I returned home" "Look, I'm not going to kill you just because you used the car to drop off my sister" Jerry says "Exactly because we had to walk half drunk, and without a car you bastard. And you were peaceful in dreamland" Mike says "Come on now you are here safe and sound" I say "Why were you smiling? It's strange to see you smile first thing in the morning. What were you dreaming about? Sean says. I swear I was already starting to break out in a cold sweat. These bastards notice everything. "You will never believe it, but I dreamed of living on a chocolate land" What a big bullshit, but I hope they can at least believe it. "A chocolate land? I wish there was one! I would live there for the rest of my life" Sean giggles. "Yeah, me too" Jerry says and we laugh..Luckily they believed it! If they find out that Lily and I are together I'm scared of how they'll react. But what I fear most is Jerry. I hope you don't kill me there I have to talk to Lily about this, she knows it better than me. Lily, Lily I always have you on my mind. I get up and I go in the bathroom and I wash my face. Then, I go in the kitchen and prepare something for the breakfast. "Layne, there's some coffee left, do you want some?" Mike asks "Yeah, yes" I say and I pour some coffee in a mug. "Hey Layne, are you okay? You look like you're in the clouds" Sean asks "No nothing, I'm just a little thoughtful" I say. If I can't control myself, these fuckers will understand that I'm hiding something."Guys, I'm going for a walk. Anyone want to come? I ask "After yesterday's walk you forget that I walk. Go ahead alone" Mike says and others nod. I leave the house, and start walking towards Lily's house. From here it's only a 15 minute walk. I don't mind walking ,I'm not like the stupid ones. After 15 minutes I arrive at Lily's door. I already miss her and we only saw each other a few hours before. This girl is already driving me crazy.

I was washing the dishes when I hear the doorbell ring. I wasn't expecting anyone. I go to open the door and find Layne smiling His smile is so contagious that I smile too. Without thinking twice I kiss him and he holds me close"I missed you so much" Layne says "Come on, we just met a few hours ago" I say laughing. "What can I do if I already miss you my love" he says giving me another kiss. God, this man will make me crazy. When he calls me love I already feel butterflies in my stomach. And then his kisses, God, I can't stop kissing him. "Come sit, darling." I say and we sit on the couch "Did my brother ask you something?" I ask even though I was already expecting the answer. "Worse yet, all three. I woke up and found them staring at me and with all those questions they made me feel like I was being interrogated" Layne says and I laugh "Well, that's to be expected" I say "Lily, I don't know how I'm supposed to tell you this, but how do we tell them?" Layne asks "Well, we'll tell him when we're ready" I say relaxed "Of course you are calm. Don't you think about how Jerry might react? Isn't it going to kill me?" Layne says and I laugh even more "Layne , but are you serious? You don't have to worry about Jerry. I know he's very protective of me, but if I tell him I love you so much and want to be with you I'm sure he won't do anything to you. As long as he sees that I'm happy, he's happy too Of course if he saw me sad, that would be a big deal for you" I say "I would never make you sad for any reason. If that happened I would hate myself. Lily has the most beautiful smile I've ever seen. I wouldn't want it to vanish for anything in the world, my love" he says and kisses my hand. How can you not love a man like that? And he kiss him. "Are you free today?" Layne asks me "Yeah, why?" I ask "I want to take you somewhere" Layne says "And where exactly?" I ask "you'll only see it if you come. So what do you say?" He asks "Of course I will come!" I say "But you and I have to find a good excuse" I say "Yeah, you're right . But I'm sure we'll find some" he says and kisses me "I'm going now, I don't want them to suspect anything" he says "Okay, wait Layne. What time do I have to be ready? I ask "Right, I'll pick you up around 7pm" he says "Alright honey, see you at 7pm" I say "See you later, babe" and goes away. I couldn't wait for this evening already.Finally it was already 6.00 pm. I tried to read some books but I didn't concentrate much. I was just staying tonight. I go to the bathroom and take a quick shower. After taking a shower, I go out and start getting dressed. For the occasion I wear a dress but not too elegant with sneakers to be comfortable. When I finish tying my shoes, the doorbell rings and I immediately go to open. Layne is wearing a white t-shirt with black jeans and a leather jacket. Of course the leather looks really good on him. "Hey gorgeous, you're look beautiful" he says and kisses me "Thanks darling, you're fine too. You know the leather jacket looks very good on you" I say "Then I will always use leather jackets. Can we go? He asks and I nod. "What excuse did you make up?" I ask "I said my childhood friend Jason wanted to meet me at a bar. And you? He asks "I spoke to my father and he had invited me to dinner with him and Jerry. I told him I was going to have a drink with Michael" I say "Well, we made up some good excuses. Do not you think?" he asks "Yes, we were good" I say. "Your car is more comfortable than Jerry's anyway" Layne says "Thanks, Jerry says it too. He once proposed to me to do an exchange but obviously I didn't accept" I say. "You did well" Layne and stars to drive. Since I didn't know if he was far away, I decide to put on some music. "Do you want to listen to something?" I ask "What music do you have?" Layne asks "So I have: Queen, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, The Doors, Guns N Roses, Van Halen and Metallica" I say "But that's not right! I don't know what to choose. But I would opt for Metallica. Do you want?" Layne asks "Of course I like it! Come on, let's blow up this car properly" I say and Layne laughs. It's the Master of Puppets CD. And Battery starts. Of course singing in front of him is really suicide. I suck at singing while he's amazing. But how can you not sing and headbanging to a Metallica song? I hope he doesn't think I'm crazy. As James starts to sing, Layne and I start sing too. Dopo battery c'è Master of Puppets. And here we sang like crazy. As Master of Puppets finishes, Layne parks. It was a sort of grove. We get out and Layne signals to follow him. We go a little further when I see a tree with a house on it"Oh God Layne! Is that a tree house?" I ask incredulous "Yes it is. Come on, let's go up" he says and we start to climb. When I enter, you see that it is lit by candles. On the floor there are blankets and a basket. "Layne, this is gorgeous!" I say happily and I kiss him. "I'm happy you liked it. Come let's sit down" he says. "Layne, how do you know this place?" I ask him "Once I came with my stepfather here for a walk. As we were walking we noticed something in this tree and then we discovered that it was a tree house" Layne explains. "It's beautiful" "Here, I made some sandwiches" and he gives me a sandwich. As we continued eating I stare at him. He's gorgeous, those blue eyes of his that remind me of the sky. Layne notices me staring and gets on top of me "Layne, what are you doing?" I say smiling "If you look at me like that I can't help myself" he says and starts kissing me. "I love you so much Layne" I say stroking his hair. "I love you more Lily" and gives me another kiss. We remained in each other's arms so much that we didn't realize it was getting late. "Fuck Lily, it's late. Let's go home" he says and we start walking towards the car. I wish that moment couldn't finish. Staying in Layne's arms makes me feel safe. After a few minutes, we arrived at my house. "Thanks Layne for the surprise. It was beautiful" I say "Thank you for accepting, Lily" Layne says "Good night honey" I say "Good night love" and gives me a last kiss. And I enter home
