It's October 31st and we all know what day today is: Halloween. The party itself is nice, but the thing I hate most of all is dressing up.Since I was a teenager I have hated dressing up. Once my friends begged me to go with him to a masquerade party. I said I would come, but I wouldn't dress up. Some idiot told me who I had played. I remember that I replied to him, a Hollywood actress, Lily Cantrell, do you know her? And him obviously And he obviously said no. That day I started laughing like crazy that I had to let out so much laughter So I sincerely hope that the kids don't do anything. Famous last words. "Guys, today is Halloween! We were invited to Chris Cornell's house, he said he was going to have a party. Is not it fantastic? Mike says "Wait, Chris Cornell from Soundgarden? Mike says "What are you doing, dressing up?"
Jerry asks "Look, Mike and I bought some costumes for you." Sean says "Oh no, who knows what you bought this time" Layne says
"Guys, I'm telling you now, I won't dress up because I don't like it" I say "Bullshit, you're going to dress anyway" "Come on please don't force me to do it. I haven't dressed up since I was 12!" I say. "Come on Lily, just for tonight" Sean says "Not in a dream" I say. "Okay, but at least you'll wear a mask. Do you want to see what costumes we got for this year?" "Look, I'm already getting goosebumps from fear" Jerry says and Sean picks a envelope. "So, for Jerry a nice cowboy costume, for Layne a vampire costume, for Mike a bugs bunny costume and me that asshole of Mike bought me a chicken costume" Sean says and I laught "I can't wait for tonight just to see you!" I say and we laught "You're right, I'm mostly dying to see Sean in that chicken costume" Jerry says and laught "HEY! I'm sure I'll look cool in that chicken costume" Sean says. "I don't know guys, while we wait for tonight to arrive, why don't we watch a horror movie? I ask "Yes, nice idea. I'll go see what movies we have" Layne says and goes to see under the TV. "So we have The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Alien, The exorcist, Carrie and the Omen" Layne says "Why don't we watch The Exorcist?" Mike proposes "It is fine for me" I say and others nod "Let it go for the exorcist then!" Layne says and turn off the lights. The movie continues, but I see Sean cover his eyes a few times. Seeing it makes me laugh, but I can't otherwise I'll disturb others. "AHHH" Sean says "You're not saying you're scared, are you Sean?" Mike says "Shut up Mike" Sean says and we laught. As the film continues, suddenly the television turns off and we are left in total darkness "What the fuck happened?" Sean says and he was scared. "I think the power went out" I say "Yes, I think so. Jerry go to the kitchen and get a lighter to make some light and get a candle" Layne says and Jerry goes in the kitchen "Sean, I'm the ghost of this house, Sean come, Sean" Jerry says "JERRY I SWEAR I WILL KILL YOU" Sean says "Sean, you know that the meter is down in the basement, right? Why don't you go?" Jerry says "WHAT ARE YOU CRAZY? I DON'T GO DOWN THERE FOR ANY REASON IN THE WORLD" Sean says "Who goes then guys?" Jerry says and and silence fell. Since no one was talking I decide to propose "I'm going" I say "Thank you Lily, you are our salvation. We will be behind you" Sean says and I take the candle that Jerry had lit and I head towards the basement
I open the door and it creaks. Fabulous I look right in a scene from a horror movie. Of course those 4 are real idiots. Slowly I go down the stairs and go downstairs I want to be a little naughty and let out a scream "LILY, ARE YOU OK? LILY REPLY" Layne says. Awww, how cute was he worrying about me "Don't worry, I did it on purpose" I say laughing "But you're crazy, don't ever do that again" Layne says. Finally I glimpse the meter, I open it and press the light button "Done, someone turn on the light to check " I yell and I see a light illuminate the room. I go back up the stairs and back to the kitchen. What do we do, continue the film? I ask "You can forget it! I was having a heart attack after what happened" Sean says "Well then start getting dressed, it's late" I say and I see them picking their costumes and go in their room.Since I was alone, I decide to continue the film. After the film ends I hear the doors open and I see those 4 all dressed up appear. Jesus as soon as I saw Sean I burst out laughing "Guys the winner here is Sean" I say continuing to laugh. But the rest of you are fantastic too. I get up and walk towards Layne "Especially my vampire" I says and I kiss him. "you two get a room" I hear Sean says and Jerry slaps him "Hey why did you hit me? Sean says "Because you talk bullshit" Jerry says. "Okay, guys we can go" Mike says and we get into Jerry's car. After a few minutes we arrive and Mike knocks on the door. And Chris actually comes to open the door "hey guys, you're here! Come in" Chris says and we enter. There was music and people that I didn't know. "I saw you brought a girl. Hi I'm Chris" He says "I'm Lily, nice to meet you" I say and we shake the hands "Beautiful name, your friends already know the house. Come and I'll show you" And he takes me on a tour of the house. "So as not to bore you too much, I'll only show you the roughest rooms At the bottom on the right is the bathroom, we have already been through the kitchen, here is my room that I share with Kim and next to our room is Ben and Matt's. On the left there is a bookshelf with some CDs with some books, and 4 guitars next to it. Two electric and two classic. Do you mind if I look at the library? I ask "No, just look" he says. I approach the bookshelf and I see a copy of Ariel by Sylvia Plath and some books od Bukowski. "You know, at university I studied Plath's poems. She is a wonderful writer and poet. You should read the bell jar. Even Bukowski is great too, I read Ham on Rye when I was 16" I say "What did you study at university if I may ask? "I studied English language and literature" I say "Wow, great! Here in America?"
He asks me "No, in Oxford, England" I say "You studied at Oxford University, you're a genius then!" And I laugh "Only in literature I dare say" and we laugh. And then I see the CDs that mostly are of Beatles and Prince. I love the Beatles, my favorite song is Norwegian wood. You know a Japanese writer wrote a book named Norwegian wood as the song. If you don't mind, can we go back to the living room?
I ask "Sure, let's go" and we return in the living room. I'm looking for Layne and I see that is speaking with a guy who I don't know. I see him look up and I blow him a kiss and he sees that he smiles at me a little and he immediately goes back to talking. Strange, maybe they are talking about serious things. I sit down and see Chris approaching me with some glasses .

Sean Kinney POV

I was talking to a guy when I see Chris sit down next to Lily and hand her a glass I turn and see Mike motioning for me to turn around. And I actually see Layne giving Chris dirty looks I decide to approach him

Layne Staley POV

That son of a bitch watch how he talks to Lily. I bet he's hitting on her. First he takes her on a tour of the house. Then he sits next to her handing her a glass. I trust Lily. She's never been interested in any man before me, now that she's with me she shouldn't be interested at all. I swear if he tries to touch her I'll kill him.I see Sean approaching me "Layne, don't worry.They're just talking, I don't think he knows she's with you" Sean says "I know, I want to have some fun. You can see in his eyes that he has feelings for her. When the time comes, I'll make the world fall on him when he finds out that Lily is with me" I say "I didn't expect that from you Layne" Sean says "I won't let anyone take Lily away from me" I say. I see them talking and I see they are laughing. You even make her laugh, huh?Then he gets up, takes the microphone and speaks "So guys, do you want to play something? Chris asks "Sure come on Chris let us hear your voice" Kim says. "I'd like to play Norwegian Wood by the Beatles first. Someone told me it's their favorite song," he says and winks at Lily. I see they also talked about music. But look how cute he is even singing the song to her. And he starts singing. As he continues to sing I sit next to Lily and hold her close to me "My love, are you enjoying the party? I ask her "Yes, you're better than those in high school, that's for sure" she says and we laught "I saw you already talked to Chris" I say "Yes, we talked a bit about books and music. He seems like a good guy to me" she says. As I talk to Lily I feel like someone is watching us. I look up and see Chris staring at us. I look back down and smile. The boy was jealous. After they finished singing some songs, I see Chris approaching. "So how did I sing Norwegian wood? He asks her as if I don't exist "I really liked it, you were very good" Lily says and I see his cheeks turn a little red.
Ah Chris, I'm sorry but you're falling for the wrong girl. As we talk I see Jerry approaching. Hey Lily, come here I want you to meet a friend!"Jerry says to her "Sorry but my brother has to introduce me to someone, see you in a bit" Lily says and goes with Jerry. I turn around and see that Chris was shocked "Since when does Jerry have a sister?" He asks "Always, when I found out I was shocked too" I say. "Layne, how long have you and Lily known each other?" He asks me "For many months now" I say "God, she's a beautiful girl. She even studied at Oxford! And then she has read the same books as me!" He says and I smile "I know she's a special girl" I say. After a while she comes back "My love, how was Jerry's friend" I say and I see Chris spit out the water he was drinking. "Come on he wasn't bad, at least he was nice" she says and sits next to me giving a kiss on the cheek "In what sense, my love? Are you t-two together?" Chris says "Yes, we are together" I say and I kiss her in the mouth. On one hand I felt sorry for Chris because he's a good guy. But he deserved it a little for hitting on the wrong girl. "Sorry Layne, I didn't know you were together. Forget what I said " he says "Don't worry, you didn't know. Relax" I say. Lily she was looking at me with a questioning face but I signal her not to worry
What do you think about leaving Layne? I'm dying of sleep" she says "Sure darling let's go"
We say goodbye to the boys and then to Chris
"Chris thanks for the evening. I'm going home I'm dying of sleep" Lily says "Thanks for coming Lily, it was a pleasure meeting you" he says and they hug "Thanks to you too Layne for coming. sorry again" he whispers "Don't worry Chris" and and I pat his shoulders. We arrive at Lily's house
"Goodnight love, see you tomorrow" I say "I was actually thinking if you wanted to sleep with me" she says and I smile "How can I not accept this" I say and we enter. While she goes to the bathroom I undress. I see her come out and hand me a t-shirt and a pants "They're Jerry's, they should fit you" she says and goes in the bedroom. After putting the pants and t-shirt I go to the bedroom too. I lie down and hold her close to me. "Why was Chris apologizing to you for what he said?
She asks me. I love her innocence she didn't even realize he was hitting on her "I told you nothing happened. For a stupid thing that's all and I'll give her a kiss. "Come on, sleep, you're tired" I say "Goodnight darling" she says "Goodnight sweetheart" and I kiss her forehead.
I could finally sleep with her.
