Today is Friday. I only have classes at 11, so I only went swimming later.
Unfortunately, the pools were occupied with some students, who, like me, came to practice the sport.

In our school there is also a swimming team that I thought about joining a few times, but the pressure and responsibility did not convince me since I already have countless things to do.

I recognized some people who belong to the team, but other students were also there. On the benches up there were people who were going to see their friends practices, boyfriends or girlfriends, etc.
I take off my black shorts and my coat and I put my things in the usual chair making myself braid to make it easier to put it in the den.

"Amber, hi!" Tessa, one of the athletes in the swimming group, approaches with a wide smile as she wipes the ends of her hair with the towel.

"Tess! How are you?"

"Surprised to see you around here at this time... did you come to practice or is this where you join us?" I start laughing.

"No, I just came to do my workout, in fact I usually come earlier but today I fell asleep, things have been a little complicated lately..." my friend's face has changed slowly.

"I heard from Jaz that they locked you in a cleaning room... what the hell? It was the most bizarre story ever! And then with Jacob... are you sure he's the one who follows you?" My face has faded. My heart began to speed up with the mention of his name.

"Is the rumor already going all over the school?!" Tess grabs my hands.

"No! I mean the part you got stuck... I think it's quite obvious that everyone knows that you gave two slaps to the hottest and most popular guy at school, right? After all, it's Jacob Guevara." I put my hands to my face.

"This is all a disaster... I just want to leave..." I confess to her.

For me this school has always been a way of escaping, a refuge, because here I can really be who I am and live my life in a quiet way. When I'm at home, everything is different. I have to act in one way, dress in another, eat in another and breathe in another.

There is no genuineness at home. There are machinery. People are machines that are programmed to do what my parents want and that disgusts me.

With all this, the only thing that made me appreciate a little what is around me was also ruined.

"Bee, you'll see that everything will work out." Tess approached so that only both us heard what she would say next.

"I would put my hands on the fire that it is not Jacob who follows you. Josh told me that he has acting very differently since what happened on the field." Josh is Tessa's boyfriend, and one of the few guys who can pierce Jacob's group. They are childhood friends, as I was told, and that's why he walks with them a lot, along with a few more boys.

"Enough of this conversation. I came here to renew the ideas and relax. Thank you for your concern Tess, but seriously I'm fine and things will definitely work out." She nods her head.
I take off my slippers and grab my glasses.

"Tonight the girls and I are going to send pizzas... bring Charlotte and come to our dorm to catch up and have a lady's night, what do you think?"

"My God, of course! I'll talk to her! Thank you for the invitation Amber you are really wonderful, no wonder why so many people like you." I make an interrogative expression but Tess is faster and walks back to her teammates.
I keep thinking about what she said, until I jump off the board and take the first dive.

My muscles work furiously and my breathing is accelerated. When I get to the tip of the pool, I hear more noise than usual. I remove my eyes and try to control my breathing, which is very unregulated. I look around me at a group of freshman's who are entertained with something up there.
