When You Least Expect It

Chapter 6

Lily's pov:-

   I stood there looking at Ms.Gilmer in shock. WTF! What is she doing here? Ms.Cooper looked at both of us with confusion, "What is going on? Do you know her?" Ms.Cooper asked Ms.Gilmer "Lily is my student," she said smiling at me, then leaned toward Ms.Cooper's ear and said something to her that made Ms.Cooper's eyes widen. I stood there awkwardly. Then Ms.Cooper looked at me with a smile and said, "Um... So Lily. This is my wife, Elizabeth Cooper." My eyes widened, HER WIFE! Ms.Gilmer is Ms.Cooper's wife! what is going on?

"Nice to see you again, Lily." Ms.Gilmer said, with a gentle smile. or is she Ms.Cooper too? "Nice to see you too Miss," I said softly, then it hit me. She probably meant when I slipped this afternoon! Oh god! It's so embarrassing! I felt my cheeks heating. "Vee here told me a lot about you, Lily. How do you like your new job?" Ms.Gilmer asked, "It's okay," I answered quietly, and Ms.Cooper put a hand on her chest in disbelief, "Okay? You don't LOVE IT here, Ms.Wilson?!" She asked tilting her head to the side with a frown and a smile. My eyes widened and I shook my head, "No! I love it," I said and both of them chuckled at my reaction.

   After I was free from Ms.Cooper and Ms.Gilmer, I walked on shaking legs to Adam and Lowey. "You seem shaken," Lowey observed as Adam turned in his stool, "Did you also almost piss in your pants when Boss's wife looked at you?" they chuckled and I nodded with a haunted look. Adam's smile dropped off when he saw my expression and he asked with concern, "Are you okay?" I shook my head, Adam got up from his stool and stood beside me, "What happened?" "Ms.Cooper's wife is my professor," I said and hugged him to hide my embarrassment. "OMG! Are you for real?! That sucks. I can't imagine Ms.Cooper teaching me," Lowey yapped oblivious of my state. "Let's go somewhere else," Adam said leading me backstage as it was break time.

   "Are you okay?" He asked gently, I nodded, "Is Ms.Cooper the professor I talked to today?" I nodded again with a pout. "Oh shit. Okay, it's fine," I shook my head and hugged him again as I felt myself slip. "Is embarrassing," I whimpered into his chest, and he wrapped his masculine arms around me. "It's okay, little one," he rubbed my back then said, "You want to know something?" I hummed in agreement, "Boss and Ms.Cooper are Caregivers."

I pulled back from him and said loudly, "What?!!" He chuckled and nodded, "Uh huh, so there's nothing to be embarrassed about." "How you know? She tell you?" I asked confused. "Will. No, she didn't exactly tell me, but we bumped into each other at a cg/l party," My eyes widened and my mouth hung open in surprise. "Why you go there?" I asked while frowning, and he scratched the back of his head while blushing, "Because I wanted to learn more about cg/l lifestyle. I want to know how to help you more, little one." He said with a soft smile.

The band came backstage after their break and of course that snapped me out of my head space. we started singing and as I was vibing with the crowd, I saw Ms.Cooper and her wife come out of the office stairs door. I looked at Adam and he mouthed, "It's okay," I nodded. We continued playing until it was break time again.

   Adam and I walked out backstage together and my eyes immediately landed on Ms.Gilmer's soft eyes. Her eyes are different than usual. It's making my insides fuzzy. Exactly like Ms.Cooper made me feel fuzzy a few days ago.

Elizabeth's pov:-

   Lily was perfect. Just like Vee described her. Her voice is angelic and the way she's was absorbed by the crowd, it's like seeing a whole different girl. Lily is a quiet kid in class and I rarely hear her voice. But now seeing on stage. it's difficult to believe she's the same girl.

It was their break, and when she came out backstage with her friend, her eyes locked with mine and I could see a shift in them. I nod and she comes walking in our direction. Vee looks at her with surprise, then looks at me in question. "That's what you get after years of teaching," I said with a smirk. Lily came to stand in front of us with her friend on her toes. "That was amazing, Lily," I could see the blush after I praised her. Vee nodded in agreement, "Yeah, Lily. You're an amazing singer," she nodded and all of us noticed her overwhelmed expression.
