The living room was alive with laughter and chatter as Jisoo’s birthday party was in full swing. Friends and family mingled, enjoying the celebratory atmosphere. Balloons in various shades of pink and white floated around, and a large cake sat on the dining table, decorated with intricate flowers and candles ready to be lit.

Chaeyoung stood in the corner, watching Jisoo interact with everyone. She felt a mixture of pride and anxiety. Today was a special day, and she had a surprise for Jisoo that she hoped would make it even more memorable. But throughout the party, she found it hard to find a moment alone with her.

Jisoo moved from group to group, receiving hugs and well-wishes. She was the center of attention, her radiant smile lighting up the room. Chaeyoung watched her girlfriend with admiration, feeling her heart swell with love. But as the evening wore on, she couldn’t help but feel a bit sidelined. Every time she tried to approach Jisoo, someone else would whisk her away.

As the party wound down and guests began to leave, Chaeyoung finally saw an opportunity. She lingered near the staircase, waiting patiently. Jisoo noticed her and made her way over, her smile widening.

“Hey, you,” Jisoo signed, her hands moving gracefully. “I’ve hardly seen you all night.”

“I know,” Chaeyoung signed back, trying to mask her nerves with a smile. “It’s been a busy night for you.”

Jisoo nodded, then took Chaeyoung’s hand. “Come on, let’s go to my room.”

They climbed the stairs together, the noise of the party fading behind them. Once inside Jisoo’s room, a sense of calm enveloped them. Jisoo closed the door and turned to Chaeyoung, her eyes soft and affectionate.

“Thank you for being here tonight,” Jisoo signed, sitting down on the bed. “It means a lot to me.”

Chaeyoung joined her, feeling the bed shift under their weight. “Of course. I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

Jisoo sighed contentedly. “I got so many wonderful gifts today, but I didn’t see yours. Did you bring one?”

Chaeyoung smiled, her nerves returning. “Yes, I have a gift for you.”

Jisoo’s eyes lit up with excitement. “Really? What is it?”

“Close your eyes,” Chaeyoung signed, her heart racing.

Jisoo looked intrigued but complied, closing her eyes with a playful grin. Chaeyoung took a deep breath, leaning closer to Jisoo. She positioned herself so that her mouth was near Jisoo’s ear, feeling the anticipation build.

“I love you,” she said softly, using her voice for the first time.

Jisoo’s eyes flew open, and she backed away, her expression one of shock and amazement. “Chaeyoung, did you just…?”

Chaeyoung nodded, her face a mix of nervousness and happiness. She watched as tears welled up in Jisoo’s eyes. Without warning, Jisoo threw her arms around Chaeyoung, kissing her passionately. Chaeyoung kissed her back, feeling a rush of emotions.

When they finally broke apart, Jisoo was smiling through her tears. “How?” she signed, her hands trembling.

“I’ve been taking classes,” Chaeyoung signed back. “I wanted to surprise you.”

Jisoo laughed, wiping away her tears. “You have no idea how happy this makes me. I’ve always told you I loved you, and now… hearing you say it… it’s the best gift I could ever ask for.”

Chaeyoung smiled, feeling a sense of accomplishment and love. “I love you, Jisoo. More than anything.”

Jisoo hugged her again, burying her face in Chaeyoung’s shoulder. “Thank you. For everything.”

"I know you can't hear me but I really do love you Chaeyoung, so much that it hurts sometimes. I know you might be tired of hearing it all the time, but it's like I fall in love with you like it's the first." Jisoo mumbled, "I love everything about you, eyes, nose, lips. I will always love you."

"Thank you for trusting me."

They stayed like that for a while, wrapped in each other’s arms, the world outside forgotten. In that moment, Chaeyoung knew she had given Jisoo a gift that would last a lifetime—a piece of her heart, expressed in words she had worked so hard to learn. And for Jisoo, it was a gift beyond measure, a testament to the love they shared.
