Dhruv pov ~
The room seemed to slow down, each second stretching into eternity as I watched Shivantika stagger and then collapse. Panic surged through me, my heart pounding in my chest. Her face, which is usually so full of life, was pale and slack, eyes closed as if in a deep, unnatural sleep. The world around me blurred, as my only focus was on her. I gently cradling her head, calling her name with a mix of fear and urgency, but alas it was of no use. The air was thick with dread, every breath a struggle as I desperately sought signs of life.
In that moment, nothing else mattered—except the hope that she would open her eyes and smile at me again, but she didn't.
"Shivantika!"
"Wake up, jaan!" I called out but no reply, her lifeless body lying in my hand.Taking some water from the jug kept on the table beside the bed I sprinkled some water on her face but she didn't wake up.
And I wasted no time in scooping her up in my arms and rushing to the hospital, my family members panicked as soon as they saw Shivantika in that condition, all of them following me outside the house ready to go to the hospital, asking various questions all the way
"What's wrong with bhabi bhai she was okay when I last saw her" asked a tensed abhiraj
"Bhai...bhai bhabi ko kuch hoga to nahi naa please bolo na" asked Anjali crying hysterically
( Bhai nothing will happen to bhabi right, please tell me)
"Dhruv beta kya hua Shivantika ko" asked my mother looking all tensed while chachi and dadi was no different from her.
( Dhruv what happen to Shivantika)
"Please everyone I think we should first take her to the hospital, I will answer your questions later, right now she needs treatment, agar mere Shivantika ko kuch bhi hua to mai jee nahi paunga" i replied and rushed out the house.
( I won't be able to live if something happens to Shivantika)
I made her sit in the passenger seat, as safely as I could and settled myself in the driver's seat.
The drive to the hospital was a blur of speed and anxiety. I gripped the steering wheel tightly, knuckles white, as I navigated through traffic with a single-minded urgency. While Shivantika lay in the passenger seat, still unconscious, her shallow breaths the only sign of life.
Every red light felt like an eternity, every second stretched taut with fear. I kept glancing over, as I whisper words of reassurance more for myself than Shivantika, willing her to wake up. The car was filled with the tension of unspoken prayers and the beeping of my hazard lights, a desperate plea for space from other drivers.
When I finally screeched to a halt at the emergency entrance, a wave of relief and terror washed over me. Nurses and doctors rushed to your side, pulling a gurney towards the car. As they lifted Shivantika out, I followed closely, my heart in my throat, every step echoing with the hope that I wasn't late in bringing her to the hospital.
The hospital's sterile, white corridors seemed endless as I rushed alongside the gurney, my heart pounding in my chest. The fluorescent lights overhead cast a harsh glow, illuminating the worried expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses surrounding me. The incessant beeping of medical equipment filled the air, a stark reminder of the gravity of the situation.
I glanced down at Shivantika lying unconsciously in the bed and a cold fear gripped me, making it hard to breathe. My hands trembling, as I gently clasp her hand drawing some small comfort from the warmth of their skin.
