If there was a day that strangling Taen made all my problems go away, I would pray for that day to be today. But sadly, I know that would never be true.
After dealing with Audrey in the Whirl islands, Pink helped me get to Sonata, where Lav was cranky. I did my best to comfort her, but nothing calmed her down. To say I was stressed was an understatement. Lav never acted like this and was usually very easy to care for. Vi didn't seem too worried about me not paying attention to her as her sister had a fit. Instead, she stayed out of my way and when I asked her to take a nap, she listened, probably knowing I was fighting a bigger battle and didn't have time to play our usual game of her avoiding her naps. I was grateful for her cooperation, but I had a bigger problem.
I would like to note that the incident at the Library was unknown to me. So how did I learn about it? Forest told me when he came to rescue me from Lav. I was running on a low amount of sleep from trying to calm Lav down, so when he came to my aid, I saw it as a threat. He didn't stop me as I tried to push him off, merely getting me to sit down and taking Lav from my grip. I trembled at the sequence of actions until my ears stopped hearing Lav's cries. I cleaned my face from the sweat and tears before seeing Forest gently lull Lav to sleep, humming something softly into her ear. I was stunned as he smiled at me before sitting beside me, letting Lav rest.
"All good?" I blinked twice before nodding.
"Yeah... thanks." A yawn instantly escaped me before I rubbed my face. "I- uh- can take her now-" Forest raised an eyebrow as he scanned me.
"Or... you could take a nap yourself. You look like you're about to drop." I waved him off, but he wasn't wrong. I just had bigger worries.
"I'm alright." Vi came over, hearing her sister's restful noises. She instantly climbed into my lap, cuddling up to me. I frowned as she purred.
"It's your turn. Naptime." I went to argue, but another yawn escaped me, defeating my entire argument. Vi giggled at the noise I made before slipping away and bringing over a blanket. She got me comfortable before cuddling up to me. I was unfocused, so I fell asleep.
Forest stayed with me the entire time, keeping Lav asleep and providing me extra comfort when my unconscious self found my current position as a terrible life decision. When I woke up, Vi was tiredly waking up as Forest got food. My stomach made a noise as I sat up, alerting him.
"Morning." He passed me a plate while giving Vi a small box. Lav had a bottle with her as Forest helped her with it. I ate up before eyeing him.
"Why are you helping?" He scoffed.
"I'm avoiding the girls." I raised an eyebrow as he sighed. "I'm guessing Pink didn't tell you what happened?"
"When?"
"At the library?" I hummed.
"No."
"Figured." He sighed as Lav finished the bottle, instantly cuddling up to his arm and falling asleep again. "Apparently there's a prophecy that one of us will join a cult." I snorted in response. "The girls jumped on me, thinking it was referring to me."
"That's the biggest bull I've heard all week."
"I know. But I haven't found a good argument against it." I studied him.
"You wanna know what I think?"
"What?"
"I think it's referring to Pink." He looked at me shocked as I chuckled. "Don't act stupid. What can Pink do with her little flute?" He blinked twice, still not getting the point. "She had to get out of the Cult of Darkrai's place without triggering Persephone. How'd she do it?"
