Niki's POV

I smiled at her a little before I opened my mouth to talk but as I was about to start, the door opened. Y/n was still next to the door but quickly moved away before the door could push her against the wall. It was Jake. Yay.

"I see you have already changed. Now, care to explain why you're here?" Jake asked as he walked inside the room not breaking eye contact with me.

"I already told you. I'm sick of my parents, I ran away from home." My voice wasn't my usual cold, emotionless voice. Well at least not fully. Now it had a pinch of softness and something deeper in it.

I caught Y/n's eyes on me in the corner of my eye before she looked at Jake. I'll deal with our conversation later. First, I need to fix this mess.

Jake's eyes didn't leave mine just yet as he opened his mouth to talk again. "Why? Didn't you tell us that you regret-"

"The only regret I have is not cutting my parents off when I had the chance to. Whatever text you got it wasn't from me. And you know it well damn enough."

I could see how something in Jake's eyes flashed. It was almost unnoticeable but I noticed a lot of little things. For example, how Y/n was wearing my old hoodie that I gave her when we first became a couple. That no one knew about, shut up. It's not time to let these thoughts win.

Jake didn't say anything or move for a few more seconds before he took two big steps toward me, and stopped right in front of me before we "bro hugged" each other.

"Welcome back man," Jake said and I cracked a small smile for a split second before my face went cold again. Jake continued "Others would like to talk to you too. They're waiting downstairs."

I nodded but I wasn't on my current "to-do list" to talk to them first. I needed to talk to Y/n. But now, when Jake was here with Y/n and me in this room, I was ninety-nine percent sure I would have to cancel this little relationship meeting today. At least until I talk to the others.

Without another word spoken, Jake almost dragged me out of his little sister's room, closing the door behind us. Y/n was left standing there where she was the moment after the doors opened. 

I was planning on talking to her about telling the others about our relationship, but now, that I thought it through, I would rather not tell about us to anyone until this whole mess calmed down. Also, I was certain that Y/n wouldn't agree with telling her brother about this. Yet. 

"Already done talking?" Heeseung's surprised voice pulled me out of my thoughts.

"Yo, don't kick him out, okay?" Sunghoon followed after Heeseung was done talking.

"Jake, I know you're pissed at Niki but please let him talk first. Maybe-" Jungwon didn't get the chance to finish what he was saying when Jake shut them all up just by lifting his hand in front of him, signaling for them to stop.

"I'm not kicking anyone out. Unless you all piss me off by not shutting up. I did talk to him... A bit." Jake said as he looked at me for a few seconds and looked back at everyone else. 

I talked to the others too and in the meantime, Y/n walked downstairs and to the living room where we all were sitting. There was free space next to me and also next to Jungwon. Y/n didn't think a lot before she started walking up to me but before she could reach the free seat, Jake sat next to me. He had just come back from the bathroom. 

Y/n froze for a split second before she continued walking and sat down next to Jungwon. The boys, except Jake, and I talked seriously for a bit more before we relaxed and started talking like we used to. Jake didn't though, he was sitting there, next to me, silent. Not a single sound left his mouth since he came back from his bathroom break. 

"You okay?" I asked silently while the others continued talking. It was only now that I noticed he was staring at Y/n. Okay, this is weird. Jake was protective of his little sister but his stare wasn't something I had ever seen before from him toward Y/n. This time it was almost like he was angry at her. Don't get me wrong, they did fight sometimes but Jake never gave Y/n death stares or anything like that. It didn't look like Jake heard what I said either she continued staring at her even when I asked him if he was okay. 

"Jake?" Jay repeated. Jake snapped out of it then but when he looked at Jay, he looked like a lost puppy. He heard nothing of what Jay had just said. Y/n also looked at Jake as he kept quiet. 

"Did the cat get your tongue or something? Why are you so silent?" Sunoo asked and passed a can of soda to Heeseung.

"Ahh, sorry 'bout that. I was just... lost in my thoughts." Jake said and I noticed as he clenched his fists. 

"It's fine. We were talking about the vacation we were planning. We still haven't decided on the day..." I didn't listen to what Jay was saying anymore. Now my whole attention was on Y/n and Jake. Mostly on Y/n but Jake was right next to me and for me to see Y/n I had to see a glimpse of Jake's face too.

For the next five minutes, Jay and Jake were talking and I didn't listen to them at all. I was watching how Y/n was braiding Jungwon's hair. It was cute. She was cute. I wasn't that jealous when she interacted with other boys mainly because I knew she basically grew up around them. Especially Jay. He was there for Jake when he needed someone the most and Jay helped him to take care of his little sister. And the others did too. Even though there wasn't a big age difference between them. When Y/n was sick or had an injury Jungwon stayed with her when Jake's parents demanded Jake to learn how to be the next CEO of the family company.

Once again I was pulled out of my thoughts when Jake stood up all of a sudden and turned toward Y/n. "Y/n, can you come with me? I want to have a word with you."

Jokes aside, this took me seven days to write (mainly because I reread this book and changed almost the whole chapter).

Also, guys if the chapters before this one have this "[THE SPELLING AND GRAMMAR MISTAKES HAVE BEEN CORRECTED AND THE CHAPTER CONTAINS CORRECTIONS.]........" written before the chapter and after the chapter, please read it again because I'm fixing the mistakes and also adding some more things or correcting fact mistakes. (For now, I have only done this for the first and second chapters but I'll do this with every single of them that came before this chapter. I'll let you know in my profile "conversation" section every time I'm done fixing a new chapter. Luv u.
