Despite it being early in the morning in February, the girl could still feel the cold breeze flow into her room through the open window. Kazemi liked it. She always did. The cold breeze compared to the warm ones in the summer always gave her more... comfort, she'd say if you could asked her why.
Papers scattered around her desk as she filed through application forms for high school. Highly ranked schools like Shiketsu High or Ketsubutsu Academy were on her priority list.
At least that's what she thought until her mother brought up the idea of her applying to U.A.
U.A. Highschool. Currently ranked number one in Japan for its heroics course, considered the top Hero Academy in Japan. The very same school her mother and father previously studied at.
Kazemi sighed. She wasn't sure why she was hesitant to apply to the school. She knew it would be a breeze to get past the examinations. Yet there she sat, clicking her pen multiple times as she laid out the three papers for her to decide.
Her friend—and only friend—Yo Shindo had already applied for Ketsubutsu Academy last year. So he would be in his second year by the time she was in her first. But that was the only reason she could think of to apply there.
Shiketsu High, the U.A. of the East. Kazemi had considered applying there during her middle school years, but she was never a fan of the school. Especially due to its reputation with their students.
The girl glared at the last and final paper, which belonged to U.A. She sighed. Clicking her pen for the last time before—
The door to the room clicked open.
There stood her mother, Mizuki Ryujin. Her tall and tan frame leaned against the door frame as her long blue hair reached the floor, despite it being tied up. Her dark purple eyes stared at her daughter. Arms crossed as she blew a strand away from her face.
"Have you decided already?" She asked in a soft tone.
"I think so."
"U.A?" her mother asked.
Kazemi sighed, "U.A."
Mizuki smiled. Joy evident on her face as she stood up straighter and said, "Good choice."
"Tell me when you're done so I can request a recommendation." And then she was off.
"Oh, and don't forget," Mizuki poked her head by the door once more.
"Be ready by 9. We have to get you ready for the examinations on the 27th," she said, before closing the door off with a click.
Kazemi slouched into the chair she was in and dragged her hands down her face before sighing.
The Ryujin's are a prestigious family, of course. Kazemi's mother came from a line of pro heroes. Most of them being top ten in the Philippines. besides the fact that Mizuki and her half brother—Kazemi's uncle—both lived in Japan. Although it was a shame that he died with his wife three years ago during an attack.
And her father's side was, well... complicated, to say the least.
The girl never really liked them. Even before her parents divorced. They were always uptight, or too strict, when it came to standards.
