Diona POV

I suddenly wake up in the middle of the night. Something is ...... wrong. I can't put my finger on it but my intuition is screaming that something is wrong. Before I could think of anything else I feel a stab of pain in my eyes. Before I can even scream the pain spreads all over my body. It is not normal kind of pain. This is a bone deep pain. As if someone is stabbing every inch of my body with a dull knife. It f*cking hurts!

Every breath I take is agonizing. It feels as of someone is peeling my flesh off and pulling my bones out at the same time. My eyes are at fire. I am in utter agony. I can't even open my mouth to scream.

I have had life- threatening injuries before that made me wish for death. But this? This is even more painful than those.

Every second feels like hours.I don't know what's happening. Was I cursed? Poisoned? I can't even think. anymore. Everything hurts. With that last thought I slip into unconsciousness as the darkness taken me over.

This time when I wake up I notice that my clothes are drenched in sweat. I find that the pain is gone. I sigh with relief. Then I finally think......................
F*ck!!! what was that?!

Did someone curse me? Was I poisoned? What exactly happened to me? That kind of pain does not just comes out of thin air!

I take a deep breath and start thinking calmly. The odds of me being cursed is nearly impossible. Why you ask? Well, it's because of the Astariol bloodline. That's what makes the imperial family nearly untouchable.

Our bloodline negates the affect of nearly all types of curse. If someone actually put a curse on us then they have to make a huge sacrifice to make the curse potent enough to affect us. This cheat like ability gave the Astariol imperial family a huge advantage. One of the reasons, why we were nearly never challenged.

Alongside the talent of having a strong physique and huge mana reservoir, this cheat like ability to negate all curses made the Astariol imperial family unchallenged. The only way to kill an imperial family member, is through poison or good ol'e sword in the heart meathod. Otherwise we were nearly untouchable.

So, that crosses out the possibility of being cursed. That leaves poison, but even that's nearly impossible!

I am barely a few months old. So far I have only consumed ............ yes.. I gotta say it!....... breast milk. So for me to be poisoned would mean that Arabella was also poisoned.

I turn my head sideways to get a look at the sleeping Arabella. Not a hint of cold sweat, or pain. I can see the rythmic rise and fall of her chest. She looks very good. Her complexion is totally rosy. If she was poisoned , it would affect her worse than It would affect me. Hypothetically speaking, if Arabella was poisoned and that poison affectted me then Arabella would be in more pain that me. So, I was not poisoned either. If not that then what was that? Did I imagine it somehow? Yeah! f*ck that! You don't imagine pain that severe.

I was busy thinking about all the possibilities when I noticed that the sun was rising. The dawn was breaking. I looked out of the window and then back at Arabella and that's when I noticed something that nearly had me rubbing my eyes.

Colours....... There were colours emanating from Arabella..... That was not all.... There were also many colourful strings tied to her hands but they were all translucent.

What the f*ck?????!!!!

Have I started to hallucinate?! What's going on here?! Someone call an optometrist!Something is wrong with my eyes!!

I was having a freak out session. I took deep breaths. Trying to calm myself. After a while when I calmed down... it hit me. This had happened before. Just yesterday actually. But the colours had disappeared as they came. I thought it was my imagination. Guess, I was wrong. This is very much a reality.

Now, that I had calmed down. I observed the colours and strings around Arabella with more details.

Arabella was emanating a silver glow at the moment, then slowly yellow whisps appeared and got entagled with the silver glow and Arabella smiled. It seemed to me as if she was having a good dream.

Next I observed the strings. There were not many strings. There were in total three strings tied to her right hand and five to her left. All were nearly translucent. But they had different colours. The strings in her right hand were in dark and intense colours. Two of them were pitch black. As for the third one , it was gray. I did not get any good feelings when I saw the black threads. They were battered and frayed. They looked as if they were ready to snap. The black looked ominous.

As for the left hand, it had more strings and they were in lighter and pastel colours. Two of them were light blue in colour. They were very thin, as if ready to disappear. They were also broken. All the other threads had one end tied to Arabella's hands and I could only guess that the other ends were tied somewhere else . I then saw another thread. This one was yellow. It looked very beautiful.

The next thread I saw was ruby red it was very thick compared to the other threads. But what shocked me was that this thread was tied to something inside the room. When I followed it with my eyes I was shocked! The thread was tied to my left hand! I was completely baffled. I tried to touch it but my hand went right through it as if it was a projection of some kind.

By now I had a very small hunch about what these threads could be but I decided to observe some more. The last thread was the thickest thread and it had the most beautiful shade of red I had ever seen. It was crimson and it looked so beautiful I couldn't look away.

I calmed down as I realized something. This was not a hallucination. I had a pretty good idea of what had happened to me at this point of time. I just had s somethingome doubts which I needed to clarify. I was still looking at Arabella. When the door opened and Bethany entered the room.

Just like Arabella, she also had colours and threads around her. What shocked me was that the yellow thread tied to Arabella's left wrist, had it's other end tied to Bethany's left wrist. It further strengthened my hypothesis. Bethany had more threads tied to her wrists than Arabella. She was emanating a buttery yellow hue. f bb
