I woke up, feeling warmth around me. I remembered last night and smiled, feeling his chest against me—it was so comforting. I stayed still for a moment, savoring the feeling of being wrapped in Kuroo's arms. His steady breathing and the rhythmic rise and fall of his chest were soothing, making it difficult to want to move. Eventually, I shifted slightly to look up at him. His eyes fluttered open, and he gave me a sleepy, but affectionate smile.
"Good morning," he murmured, his voice husky from sleep.
"Good morning," I replied, my voice soft. "Did you sleep well?"
"Better than ever," he said, tightening his arms around me for a moment. "How about you?"
"I slept great," I said, still smiling. "Last night was perfect."
He chuckled softly, brushing a strand of hair away from my face. "It really was. I'm so glad you're here."
Just then, there was a knock on the door, followed by the sound of Yaku's voice. "Hey, lovebirds, it's time to get up. We've got a busy day ahead." I wondered why he stood at the door alone. I looked around the room, only to see that we were the last ones to get up. The room was completely empty; we must have overslept. Kuroo sighed, reluctantly letting go of me.
"Guess we can't stay in bed all day," he said with a playful pout.
I laughed and sat up, stretching. "No, we can't. But there's always tonight."
Kuroo grinned at that. "I like the sound of that." He stood up and offered me a hand. "Come on, let's get ready."
We got up and quickly changed into our uniforms. As we walked out of the room, hand in hand, we ran into Yachi and Kiyoko, who both gave us knowing smiles.
"Had a good night?" Yachi asked, winking.
"Yeah, we did," I replied, feeling a bit shy but happy.
Kiyoko nodded approvingly. "It's about time you two got together." I looked at her, and she started smiling, seeming happy for us. "Oh, and we already prepared breakfast, so don't worry about that! Yachi and I woke up earlier than usual, so we have more time." I just nodded thankfully.
We all headed to the cafeteria for breakfast. The atmosphere was lively, with everyone chatting and laughing. I felt a sense of contentment being surrounded by friends and the boy I liked. As we sat down to eat, Kuroo leaned over and whispered in my ear, "I'm looking forward to spending the rest of the camp with you, and many more days after that."
I blushed and nodded, feeling incredibly happy. "Me too, Kuroo. Me too." My eyes wandered around our table; you could only see Kenma on his phone except for eating, and Yaku and Lev fighting over something.
"Why didn't you guys wake us up earlier? We almost overslept!" I said with a sense of confusion and interest.
"Well, you two cuddled so sweetly, and you didn't wake up when we tried, so we just let you guys be," Kenma said, showing us a photo they took of us. You could only see Kuroo and me cuddling; he had his arms wrapped around me, and my face was on his chest. Behind us were Lev and Yaku posing funny. I laughed at the sight, but I was also embarrassed, while Kuroo was only getting red and pretended as if he saw nothing. You could see a hint of a smile on his face.
The day went by in a blur of practice matches and team activities. Kuroo and I stayed close, stealing moments together whenever we could. His presence was a constant source of comfort and joy. In the afternoon break, we had to prepare dinner. I was walking to the cafeteria when I saw Kiyoko and Yachi approaching me.
"Do you mind making dinner alone today? I mean, we did the breakfast without you. Don't get me wrong, it was no problem, and I would do it again. But we wanted to buy something with some of our teammates and the coaches."
"Oh, don't worry. Today, we only have to set up the grills because of the barbecue. It will be fine!" I said, smiling and hugging them. I stood still, watching them walk away. I wondered what they wanted to buy—maybe some snacks?
