As I watched Kiyoko and Yachi walk away, I couldn't help but wonder what they had planned. Maybe they were just picking up some snacks, or perhaps something more exciting? I had heard from Yamamoto that since tonight was the last night of camp, everyone wanted to have a party. They were planning to set up games like "Truth or Dare," "Twister," and other team activities. It sounded like a lot of fun, and I hoped it would help us grow even closer to the other teams. Maybe Kiyoko and Yachi were buying supplies for tonight, but what exactly? Shrugging off my curiosity, I headed to the cafeteria to start preparing for the barbecue. The smell of the grill already filled the air as I went to get the grills.
Setting up the grills was hard—they were heavy and difficult to move. I was busy arranging one when Kuroo came up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist. "Need some help?" he asked, his voice warm and reassuring. "Yeah, actually, that would be great," I replied, turning to face him. His smile was contagious, and it was impossible not to feel at ease with him so close. In that moment, we looked into each other's eyes, and I was lost in them. We started to work, with Kuroo setting up the grills and me arranging the equipment and tools. Together, we worked efficiently, getting everything ready for the barbecue. The sun was beginning to set, casting a golden glow over the camp, adding to the charm of the evening.
Finally, I saw Kiyoko and Yachi with their teammates and coaches. They were carrying bags from the stores, which looked heavy. Tanaka and Nishinoya rushed to take the bags from the girls and disappeared inside the rooms. I couldn't even sneak a peek inside! Well, I had to wait.
"Hey, how was preparing everything?" I heard Kiyoko ask.
"Well, I had help, so it wasn't that hard," I answered, laughing and glancing at Kuroo, who was standing right next to me, talking to Kenma, Tsukishima, Bokuto, and Akaashi. He seemed to get along pretty well.
As the teams started to gather around, the air was filled with laughter and the sound of sizzling meat. The barbecue was in full swing, and the atmosphere was lively. I found myself sitting beside Kuroo, our fingers entwined, enjoying everyone's company. The conversations flowed easily, and I felt an overwhelming sense of happiness. Kenma, who usually kept to himself, was surprisingly talkative, engaging in conversations with the others, though he still held his Switch. Bokuto was his usual energetic self, cheering loudly over the barbecue. Kuroo's laughter was like music to my ears, and every time he looked at me, my heart skipped a beat.
Time went by, and as the night deepened, Kuroo suggested we take a walk. The moon looked beautiful. We walked slowly, our hands clasped together, the only sound being the gentle chirping of crickets. "Y/N," Kuroo began, his voice soft and serious, "I've been thinking a lot about us. About how we started as friends and how things have changed. I know we've only just started, but I feel like this is the beginning of something special. I don't want to rush things, but I can't deny how I feel about you." I looked at him, my heart pounding in my chest. "Kuroo, I feel the same way. These past days have been incredible, and I'm so grateful for every moment we've shared. I don't know what the future holds, but I do know that I want to be with you, to see where this goes." He smiled, a genuine, heartwarming smile that made everything feel right. "Then let's take this one step at a time. Tonight, let's just enjoy each other's company and see where the night takes us." I felt so happy to have found a man who was genuine about his feelings, who was a gentleman and knew how to treat a woman. Even more important, he cherished me and made me happy.
We walked back to the camp, hand in hand, feeling a sense of peace and contentment. The night was far from over, and the barbecue was still going strong. We joined the others, sitting together and joking around. The laughter and the company made everything feel perfect. As the night drew to a close, Kuroo pulled me close, his arms around me. "Thank you for tonight, Y/N. It was amazing." "Me too, Kuroo. Me too," I whispered, feeling his arms tighten around me. We shared some kisses under the starlit sky until we heard a voice. "It's alright, lovebirds. Don't make me feel single! Karasuno and Fukurodani want to have fun on our last night, and our team will go too. What's with you guys? Are you also coming?" It was Yamamoto. I looked at Kuroo, his expression seemed to mean, 'I don't know, you should decide,' so I did. "Yes, we are coming!" I said happily, seeing Kuroo smile.
