J x fem!MD!reader

I walked through the empty halls of the worker drone colony in search of some food. "I'm starving... where could they be?" Each hallway and classroom I walked into was empty. The only thing I could hear were my feet against the metal floor (cause they totally have feet, mhm). Why the hell is it so quiet?

After about ten minutes of searching, I finally reached the end of the colony. I was about to turn back when I heard shouting coming from somewhere nearby.

I slowly advanced towards the noise, trying to locate the voices as I walked. I'm so close. I can practically smell the oil. I kept walking down one of the many hallways in the colony. What I saw when I turned the corner shocked me. "N! You useless tin for brains! I knew you were always worthless." I winced. Definitely J.

"They'll help us if we're kind to them! Just- will you please stop fighting?!" N yelled. I hid behind a crate in the large room, observing the scene. Looks like a storage room...

I watched as J lifted her arm, charging her tranquilizer in the process. The small worker fell to the ground with a clank the second the tranquilizer hit the air, the smoke clearing in blue waves.

N watched his purple-haired friend fall while he carefully held V back from stabbing him whilst in mid-air. "Uzi! I'm so so sorry... have fun repressing this?" N suddenly licked V's swords which were inching closer and closer to him by the second. "Ew!" She immediately moved back in shock. When she looked up again she noticed N wasn't in his previous position, allowing him to strike. He quickly brought his leg down on V, slamming her into the ground with strong force.

I turned back to J. "Y'know, you've got a lot of guts for a barely sentient toaster. I've had prey fight back before, but your edgy spirit is just so... painful...?" J yelped as Uzi stuck her with her own tail. Wow, who would've guessed!

"One more buzzword and I'll do it!" Uzi snickered, holding her railgun a few inches from J's face, ready to pull the trigger and end it all.

Okay, I think that's my cue. I flipped out of the shadows and kicked Uzi's gun out of her hands before she could quite literally blow J to smithereens. "Kay, I think we're done here." I looked back to N and noticed him walking over with a tied-up V.

Uzi looked nervous but kept her guard up. Her determination didn't falter and she just stood taller.

J slowly got up from her spot on the ground only to fall again a second later. I looked at her foot and realized she was still injured. N approached us and we all stood there in silence.

Keeping eye contact with the worker, I picked up J bridal style before glancing at N one last time. I gave him a calm look that spoke words of surrender and before anyone could utter another word, I took off to the landing pod with J in my arms.

"I still don't understand how that stupid worker got to me like that," J grumbled as I spit some of my saliva onto a rag. "They're getting smarter." I grabbed her foot and rubbed the cloth over the wound, the saliva neutralizing the nanites. "You okay?" I asked. She nodded and looked away. "You don't have to be embarrassed, J. We're a team. We can admit to our faults-"

"I don't have faults." J snapped.

I turned around, putting the cloth on the counter. "Everyone has faults."

"I'm the leader of our squad. I don't have faults! I can't have faults." She argued. I sighed and walked over to stand next to her as she sat on the ship's deck near the buttons.

"Look, even though we're AI, we still make mistakes. No one is perfect. No one. You can tell me as many times as you like but you and I both know you aren't perfect. Nobody is." She quieted.

"I'm sorry, that came out kinda harsh... What I'm trying to say is..." I paused, trying to think of the words.

J looked up from her lap, her eyes meeting mine.

"Don't give yourself so much credit. JCJenson puts way too much on your shoulders. Yes, you're our leader, but... you're still a drone. You have feelings. We may not be human, but we have emotions too."

When my eyes met J's again I noticed something. She was crying. "No no! I didn't mean to make you cry! I mean... you're perfect in your own way! Y-you don't have to be perfect! I-"

J suddenly engulfed me in a hug. "Thank you, Y/n." I looked down at her and smiled. "Thank you so much." She kept her head on my shoulder. "No problem, lieutenant. She let go and looked at me skeptically before looking at me with annoyance. "Har har. Very funny." I cracked a grin and we both laughed for a while after that.

After the ambush at the colony, we all came to some kind of agreement.

"You can't kill us and we'll donate oil like... once a month."

I looked at J, watching for her reaction to Uzi's proposal.

"Fine. Sounds good."

Uzi smirked triumphantly. "Thank you. Glad we could agree."

It took Uzi and J quite a while to come to a truce, 2 hours to be exact.

"Hey uhm... J, can I talk to you? In private?"

J looked up from the spinney chair she was sitting in and nodded. "Sure Y/n."

It took a few minutes for us to get to the spot but it was worth it. I led J to an isolated flat that overlooked the large frozen lake outside the city. "It's incredible how much light Saturn projects onto the landscape." J nodded at my mention.

"It truly is something..."

I kicked some snow, focusing my gaze on that, a slight blush on my visor.

"So, why did you bring me here? You said you wanted to talk to me about something?"

"Yes. Uhm... so... y'know uhm... what's that human emotion that relates to liking something?"

"Love?"

"Yeah, that. Can you define it for me?"

J looked confused but spoke anyway. "Love. It's an intense feeling of deep affection. When you find a great amount of interest in something." J explained. "Why?"

"No... reason." I looked up at the sky. "Saturn is beautiful, isn't it?" I looked up into the cold sky at Saturn.

J looked at me. "Y/n... what are you trying to say? I feel like there's something you're not telling me."

I smiled softly before finally turning to her.

"I love you, J."

Am I gonna end it like this? Yes, yes I am.
