A child. A tiny piece of him and the woman he loved, brought into a world tearing itself apart.
And two young lovers who would now become a grown man and woman.
Hearing the chamber door get shut by my husband I kept my back facing him. Robb's footsteps could be heard, hitting against the cold stone floor of Tully castle. Robb halted in his tracks standing behind me a few steps away from me. His eyes raked over my figure like he was doing the best he could to memorize how I looked at this moment. I barely glanced over my shoulder at my one true love, remembering how I looked the night he lost me. My long, white hair cascaded down my back like a river of moonlight, and my piercing eyes sparkled with tears.
"Haelesa-"
I rushed towards him with a mix of joy and desperation. Flinging myself into his extended embrace, burying my face into his chest. Robb's face, worn and weary from his ordeal, crumpled as he saw me, his beloved wife. The King in the North, once so proud and strong, was reduced to tears as he held his wife close.
"Haelesa, my love," he whispered, his voice shaking with emotion. "I thought I would never see you again. I thought — I would never hold you in my arms again."
My tears soaked into Robb's tunic as I clung to him, my body shaking with sobs and knuckles turning white with how tight my grip was on his clothing.. "I thought I had lost you, Robb," she whispered back. "I thought the Freys would keep me away from you forever."
Robb's hands stroked my white hair, feeling the softness and the familiarity of it. He had missed her so much, missed her touch, her smile, and her laughter. He had missed her presence in his life, and now that she was back in his arms, he felt whole again.
"I'm home," Robb said, his voice barely above a whisper.
"You're home," I repeated as my smile widened. "And you'll never be taken from me again."
Robb's arms tightened around me, holding me close as they stood there, basking in the warmth of their reunion. His bright Tully blue eyes noticed the shortness of my hair, twirling the shorts locks in between his thumb and index finger with such curiosity. "Hael, what happened to your hair? Did Walder make you cut it?"
"It wasn't him. It was Jaime's idea. Cutting my hair would make it harder for people to recognize me." Briefly dropping my smile I questioned him. "You don't hate it do you. It'll grow back, you know."
The man I loved pressed his forehead down against mine, cradling both sides of my face in his hands. "You could have cut all your hair off to look like a boy and you'd still be the woman for me. You're my Queen. Always have been and always will be." Grinning up at him I leaned up on my toes about to kiss him until someone knocked causing me to go see who it was.
Opening the door I saw it was Violet who stood in the hallway, holding my child in her arms. "Lady Stark, I figured you'd wish to watch her tonight."
"Thank you." I took my baby from her arms seeing her curtsy before walking down the hallway in the opposite direction.
"You're welcome, my lady."
"Robb, come with me." I whispered, my voice raspy as we heard the chamber door close leaving the three of us alone. He took my hand in his calloused fingers gently against her soft skin, leading me over to the bed and sitting down all the while I held the baby to my chest with one arm.
