YOU WERE LAYING NEXT TO EREN until your phone started to vibrate in your lap. you picked it up to see that your mom was facetiming you.

"hey mama!" you answered.

"hello my sweet daughter! how are you?" she greeted with a big smile.

"i'm doing good, you?" you replied.

"oh i'm doing amazing." she said confidently.

"it's because of that man huh?" you teased.

your mom has had a boyfriend for about a year or two now. she revealed it to you a little after you graduated.

"of course." she responded. you heard a man's laugh in the background.

"is that him?" you asked. she nodded with a smirk on her face.

"listen, i want you and your friends to come down today. the whole family is gonna be here!" she told you.

"of course. what time?" you questioned.

"in about an hour or two. but you know how them people are it'll probably take them four hours to get here." she said as she rolled her eyes.

"oh yeah. i'll let the group know." you told her.

"alright baby...wait a minute! who's bed are you in? that's not your room!" she raised her voice slightly.

you panned the camera to eren who was playing a football game on his phone. he looked up and instantly smiled.

"hey ms.l/n! how're you doing?" he asked her.

"i know that's not–eren! i haven't seen you in forever boy where have you been?" your mom questioned. you handed the phone to eren so she could finish talking to him while you went to the bathroom.

"i was...out of state."  he answered.

"for what? school? work?" she asked more questions. eren was hesitant about telling her the whole story. he didn't want her to view him differently.

even though she didn't know yall were dating, your mom liked eren a lot. she always said he had good manners. he'd have long conversations with her all the time. any time the group came to your house there was always a time when you'd find eren in the living room talking to her. you had always wondered what your mom would've thought if you would've told her about your relationship. there was a chance she wouldn't have minded. but then again, she was always hesitant on you dating as a teen because of your dad. she didn't want you becoming a single mother like her.

"nah i was..i was going through some stuff." he told her.

"mmm i see. your daddy huh?" her tone changed.

eren nodded. everyone knew that eren and his dad had a rough relationship. your mom never liked him, actually, she despised that man.

"we'll talk about it later. you go ahead and get yourself ready." she smiled.

"alright yes ma'am." eren smiled back.
