Draco's P.O.V.

I watched as Kelsey and Dumbledore apparated into the Ministry of Magic. Kelsey looked up at me and threw up. I felt a pang of guilt.

"Where are we?" Kelsey asked, her face painted with desperation. The Minister let out a sickening cackle and he walked out of the room. As soon as he was gone, Dumbledore came towards me.

"Draco, I need you to listen to me. The Minister is working with Voldemort. You need to protect Kelsey at all costs. She was not sent back because she is the key to taking over the muggle world. This will mean complete betrayal of your family, Draco. Can I trust you?" He looked at me, more serious than I had ever seen him before.

I gulped. The Dark Mark on my arm started to burn, reminding me that I had already committed myself to the Dark Lord. Even seeing Dumbledore still alive to speak to me was a reminder of my failures. But Voldemort was dead. Harry Potter had killed him. Right?

"He is not dead. He will come back. And you will need to pick a side once and for all." Dumbledore continued, sensing my fear. Before I could answer, the Minister entered back into the room with several hooded figures. Death Eaters.

"You, girl! Crucio!" One of them shouted at Kelsey. She screamed out in pain and crumpled to the floor.

"Expelliarmus!" a voice shouted from the doorway. I looked over and saw my sworn enemy Harry Potter defending my love. As the wand flew out of the Death Eater's hand, Harry ran over to Kelsey.

"Are you okay?" He asked her gently. She nodded. I felt a pang of guilt. I knew that Harry was the hero that Kelsey needed and deserved. But I wanted so badly for it to be me.

"Kelsey!" I called, rushing over to her despite myself.

"Get out of here, Malfoy." Harry shot at me, guarding her protectively.

"No, it's okay. Draco is my friend." Kelsey defended me. I was shocked and a little touched.

"You know him?" Harry asked her, somewhat startled by her response.

"Draco! What are you doing? Join us!" a voice called out, and I did not have to turn to know that it was my father.

"Draco, who is that? Do you know those awful people?" Kelsey asked, suddenly looking scared of me.

"Yes. Tell her, Malfoy. Tell her who that is. Tell her what they are, what you are." Harry Potter spat in my face, enjoying watching me squirm. For a minute, I did not answer.

"Draco?" Kelsey asked, pleading for answers.

"Kelsey, I am so sorry." I told her. I tried to grab her hand but she pulled away.

"Answer him, Draco. Who are those people? What are you?" she asked and it broke my heart to think she was scared of me.

"That- that is my father. And he, I mean we, are Death Eaters." I confessed, unable to meet her eyes.

"You see? Draco Malfoy is not on your side. He is on the side of Voldemort. I'm honestly surprised he has let you live this long." Potter comforted the heartbroken Kelsey and it was all I could do not to punch him in the face.

"Kelsey, you don't understand. I didn't have a choice! I don't want to be on His side! I want to be on your side!" I pleaded with her to try to understand.

"I didn't understand, Draco. But now I do. You are the bad guy in this story. And it scares me to think that I was almost on your side." Kelsey answered coldly. Harry Potter smirked.

"You. Potter, you ruined everything. You saw that I had something I cared about and you ruined it." I shouted. I punched him in the face. Blood gushed out his nose. I performed a body binding spell on him.

"Draco!" Kelsey shrieked. I forgot she was there.

"Kelsey, I-"

"No. You're a monster." She stated. She rushed over to help Potter but found that she could do very little for him without magic. I undid the spell silently, so that she would not feel so powerless.

"Draco!" Two voices shouted at once. I turned to see Dumbledore standing at one end of the room and my own father at the other. It had all come down to this moment. I would have to choose between good and evil. Between the girl I was falling in love with and the only family I had ever known. I knew that forsaking the Dark Lord after having been branded one of his servants would be extremely dangerous for myself and for Kelsey.

I had to do what was right for me. I had to decide whether I would choose light or dark. The boy who had no choice was finally being given a second chance. A chance to change and be better. But was it worth it if it meant endangering someone I love? With a deep breath, I made a choice that would change my fate.
