Kelsey's P.O.V.
"It's okay. I-I- I don't know what to do." I tried my best to comfort the boy that Draco had called "Potter" but it was not working.
"Can you perform bone repairing spells?" He asked me.
"I- I'm a mouse. No, that's not right. I'm a mutt? Oh, I can't even remember the term Draco used!" I got frustrated at my incompetence in the situation.
"You're a muggle? How did you get here?" The Potter boy asked me. He took out his own wand and fixed his nose as I looked on with awe.
"Draco brought me here." I confessed.
"That doesn't surprise me. The Malfoys are a long line of evil. My name is Harry. Harry Potter." He told me and extended his hand for me to shake.
"Harry Potter? I think Draco mentioned you once." I answered. I honestly couldn't remember but Harry seemed to be important in this world and I wanted to seem educated.
"My parents were killed by Voldemort. I killed him, or so everyone thought but he is back now. Don't worry. I will make sure you stay safe." He made that promise so easily yet so gravely that I could not imagine not trusting that he would give his life to keep that promise.
"Why did Voldemort do all this? I don't understand." I wanted answers more than anything.
"Draco!" I suddenly heard two voices shout from opposing sides. One was Dumbledore. The other was the man Draco Malfoy had called his father. I saw Draco glance between them and then his eyes met mine. He looked as if he was pleading with me to give him a sign of some sort. I didn't know what to do so I tried giving him a smile. It came out awkwardly so I nodded.
He glanced again between them and then began to walk towards his father. Wait, what? Why wasn't he joining Dumbledore? I was hurt and confused by the sudden change of events.
"I'm sorry." Harry whispered. He didn't try to gloat that he knew the truth and I didn't. He didn't call out to Draco or criticize him. He just let it happen and accepted it as what is.
"Draco?" I called out, tears rolling down my cheeks. He turned quickly on his heel but his gaze was cold now.
"This is who I am." He stated as if it had always been.
"Good boy, Draco." His father smirked and clasped a hand on his son's shoulder so hard that Draco cringed.
"You have a choice, Draco. You don't have to be who they want you to be." I begged him to change his mind.
"Silly girl, this is no romance and you are not going to get a happy ending. Crucio!" Draco's father shouted at me and I fought the pain as hard as I could. After what felt like years but must have been mere moments, I collapsed with exhaustion and let the pain overtake me.
"Stupify!" I heard Harry shout from what seemed like miles away and then the pain stopped and I was numb. Slowly, I pulled myself up and saw that Draco's father had been knocked to the ground.
"Are you okay? You should probably seek cover, since you have no way to defend yourself." Harry said, helping me up from the ground.
"I want to help." I insisted.
"Kelsey, you can't. If you could, I would let you but I just don't want to see you get hurt." Harry replied awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck.
"Let her, Potter. It's her own death she is seeking." Draco shot from his father's side.
"Death would be an escape from you." I told him and for a second he looked slightly hurt.
"Don't tempt me, I can grant that wish." The idea of power flashed through him and overtook the Draco that I had come to know. I felt afraid of him for the first time.
"You're threatening to kill me? Do it then." I answered, deciding to feign bravery and test his limits. A look of shock and fear flashed across his face.
"Kelsey, do not tempt me." He warned. I knew now that he was bluffing.
"Come on then, Draco. You already broke my heart. Might as well finish the job." I taunted. He raised his wand, but his hand was shaking.
"What are you doing?" Harry whispered, raising his own wand in preparation.
"He won't." I replied, praying that I was right.
"Kelsey." Draco warned again, his voice growing darker and the snake on his arm slithering through the skull.
"Do it. Kill me. Prove that you're just as much of a monster as I think you are." I smirked.
"Avada Kedavra!"
