As the sounds of the door promptly shut behind him, dust quickly blew into the room, covering the pristine white floor of the enormous room with gray specs of dirt. Silence filled the room as soon as the currents of wind stopped, leaving the Lich nothing but his own thoughts.

Though that wasn't to say it was uncomfortable, rather, he preferred the serenity of the room. His thoughts could be pondered and processed through his theories much better while allowing him to focus and concentrate on the task laid before him.

He couldn't allow himself to look away much longer, there was still much to be done. Yet, he couldn't help but take a step back to take in the sight of his work as well. Taking a dozen steps back, he found himself standing almost at the center of the room...

At that very moment, he turned his head sixty degrees up, allowing his eyes to marvel at the sight of his creation...

Just beyond the glass dome he stood under was a barely noticeable mark right in the skies of the realm he had created. His eyes dilated, focusing upon the spot that stood out amongst the dark night sky... It was a crack and his exit out of the realm he had trapped himself within...

Almost a hundred years back, he had resolved himself to create a domain, an artificial realm made of magic to help him isolate himself within the ever-changing world. It was done so with the intention that once he finally leaves this place, he'll walk out brimming with strength...

Strength that shall topple the scales of the world and quite possibly bring disasters one after another while leaving ugly scars and marks whenever he as so much as travels through the continents... However, the price he had to pay for this creation of this was severe...

The spell was of borrowed power and the sacrifice consisted of the people who resided within that small town. To add to that, the spell that formed the spell was so overwhelmingly powerful that up until this point, he couldn't imagine himself even making a dent in this prison.

Thought that was about to change. Once he has finally acquired the Philosopher's Stone, he'll undoubtedly be leaving the very domain he had trapped himself within and soon, reach the mortal and material realm where he shall wreak destruction toward kingdoms.

"Soon Juliette, soon... I will finally begin enacting the revenge I have sworn to bring to this world will I then reunite with you in the afterlife... Until then, I hope that I still have a place in your heart..." He spoke in a sentimental voice before soon returning to his work.

The small crack toward the sky becomes larger and larger by the second, inciting the soon-to-be doomsday where everything shall converge and develop into nothing but absolute carnage...

As barely thirty minutes had passed since our separation, we began making our way forth, taking our first step into the fog that encompassed the entirety of the town. I felt butterflies swirling within my stomach, taking up space and tickling my gut...

The feeling filled me with a sense of dread I hadn't felt since I first came across the black mage we had been chasing for such a long period of time... Yet I braved on and stepped beyond the fog but not before I managed to take in a deep breath, and we began our departure.

Instantly, Dhargan and I fell behind the rest with the sole thing that allowed us to just barely keep up being the spirits of wind that gladly lent us a hand in hastening our pace. Through the familiar grass fields, I noticed the eerily quiet woods; the place derived of any being.

Previously, I had come across packs of wolves and other presences, and yet... Not a single being appeared before us, not even until we finally made it before the domain of the Lich. We stopped half a kilometer short, far enough that they surely wouldn't detect our presence...
