It had now been three months since Raj and Akriti's marriage, and everything seemed perfect. Raj was always there for Akriti, and Akriti made sure she was there for Raj and the family. Today, after Akriti finished her work early, she arrived home by 5 in the evening only to find a storm brewing that threatened not only the family but also Raj and Akriti's relationship. Tejas had slept with his girlfriend Shruti, and the consequences were dire. As soon as Akriti stepped inside, she found the house filled with shouting aimed at Tejas, which was new for Akriti, as Tejas had always been praised rather than scolded.
AKRITI'S OUTFIT
"What's happened?" Akriti asked, gaining everyone's attention.
Raj's raging eyes turned towards her, and he said, "Tejas slept with his girlfriend and made her pregnant." Both Tejas and Shruti were present.
"Tejas, is this true?" Akriti asked, her voice gentle but firm.
"Yes," Tejas replied, his voice full of shame.
Everyone was angry at him, but Raj was filled with rage. He wasn't against having girlfriends, but he was against anything that would block his siblings' future. At this point, being a parent was the biggest obstacle, and Raj was furious.
"Abort the baby. End of conversation," Raj said, starting to move towards his room.
"No, bhaiya, never," Tejas said, making him stop.
"So what do you want to do? Live off our money for the rest of your life? Give up your future to raise a child?" Raj said angrily.
"Raj, please, calm down," Akriti said.
"Akriti, stay out of this. This is my family matter," Raj shouted at her.
"My family? Excuse me, it's my family as well," Akriti said, stepping between Raj and Tejas. "And as far as Tejas is concerned, this is his child and his decision. We are no one to interfere," Akriti said boldly yet calmly to Raj.
"Do you want to ruin his future?" Raj questioned Akriti as if she were a different person.
"No, Raj. I want him to succeed in his career too, but this child is their decision. We can't do anything about it," Akriti said loudly.
"Just shut up, Akriti. They are not having this baby," Raj shouted at Akriti, his voice loud and angry.
"We are no one to decide. Do you understand?" Akriti shouted back, and Raj raised his hand to slap her but paused mid-air, realizing what he was about to do.
"Why did you stop? Hit me if you have the courage. Come on, you were about to hit me, right? Do it," Akriti shouted at him, anger raging through her.
"Just shut up," Raj said angrily and started moving out of the house.
"Go to hell, RAJ SINGHANIA," Akriti shouted with tears in her eyes.
"Bhabhi," Tejas said, hugging her. "Thank you for standing up for me."
"It's okay, but you have to continue your studies, okay?" Akriti said, to which he nodded and then left, taking Shruti with him.
Akriti sat on the floor, recalling everything that had just happened, and stared at the ground.
"Akriti beta, don't worry. He will come back, okay?" Padma said to her. Akriti nodded and went back to her room.
She was worried about the angry Raj. She knew that if his anger rose, he would hurt himself without thinking twice, and that was what she didn't want. She was deeply worried about him. She wanted him to understand the situation, but she also felt she was wrong to shout at him. She should have been calm and handled the situation better. But now, everything was a mess, she thought, sitting near the door and crying.
