I'm awakened by Belly shaking me awake.

"What? Let me sleep." I reply shoving a pillow at her.

"I'm gonna go to the beach with Jere do you want to come with us?" She asks me throwing the pillow back.

"Sure," I reply, rubbing my eyes trying to stay awake.

"Okay! Be fast, we'll be waiting downstairs." She replies before shutting the door. I get up and grab a bikini with some flowers on it, put some jean shorts on, and grab my sunglasses and a bottle of tanning lotion before heading downstairs. I find Belly, grab a towel and we walk out the side door down to the beach.

"Come on," Jere shouts as we walk down the stairs and close the door.

"Okay, I'm ready!" Belly shouts back as we walk down the stairs more rapidly.

"Hey. Did you know my dad's coming up for the Fourth?" Belly starts the conversation.

"Cool." Jeremiah replies.

"Don't you think it's weird?" Belly says.

"Not really. I love your dad." Jere says shrugging.

"Yeah," Belly says pausing."But they've only been divorced for, like, a year and a half."

"Well, that's what's so cool about your mom, you know?" He tells her. "She just doesn't give a shit." We all laugh.

"She doesn't give a shit because she's the one who wanted the divorce in the first place." Belly replies.

"It's better like that, instead of your parents fighting all the time." I say.

"I guess." She replies.

"I think if you don't want to be married, you just shouldn't be married." Jeremiah adds.

"Oh wow, Jeremiah Fisher for president 2024" I reply as we all laugh.

"Well, tell that to my grandma. She basically collapsed when my mom told her." Belly explains. We all laugh. "Did you know my dad has a new girlfriend already?" She adds.

"What?" I ask surprised. Adam didn't seem like the type to move on so fast. He was so in love with Laurel.

"Well, what about your mom? Is she dating anybody?" Jeremiah asks her.

"No," She giggles."Oh, and he has a beard now." We all laugh.

"Your dad has a beard?" Jeremiah asks confused. It'd probably look horrendous on him I think to myself.

"Yeah." She replies "Yeah, he thinks it makes him look cool." She says chuckling.

"Well does it?" Jeremiah asks.

"Kind of." She replies giggling. We finally reach the Beach and can see the ocean clearly.

"I've waited all year for this." Belly says. 

"Everyone has," I reply taking in the view. I know I was here earlier but I didn't really get in the water or anything. I was just taking pictures and tanning.

"Want to race?" Jeremiah asks.

"That's not fair, you're way taller then both of us." I reply stepping forward.

"Too bad." He replies shrugging. "And I thought you were super sport with all the volleyball and soccer you play."

"Your legs are too long now. I can't do that." Belly replies before starting to run, Me & Jere start running after to her, of course I couldn't keep up with Jeremiah he's just way too tall.

"That was a bad start." Belly yells.

"You cheater." Jeremiah shouts back. We all throw our towels down on the same spot. We all jump in the water and splash each other and play around. For a while I get out of the water and leave Belly and Jeremiah alone while I sit on my towel and feel the breeze hitting my hair. It felt good to be back in Cousins. Really good.
