EKANSHA'S POV.

"Kanu, she left."

I froze, my blood running cold.

"Kanu?"

"Kanu?"

The phone fell from my hand as I fell on my knees; it felt like someone slouched my heart out.

"Eh, EKANSHA COME HERE!" I heard Naveen shout as she entered the storeroom.

"Ekansha....Kanu, what happened?" He asked worriedly as he ran towards me, holding my shoulder as I fell.

"She left...." I muttered.

"She left. Who, Kanu, get up. Are you okay?" He asked repeatedly as more tears fell. I quickly grabbed my phone, which had a crack as I checked messages, and an audio clip caught my eye.

"You stay here; I'll come someone," he said as he ran out.

I played it as I heard her sound.

Her voice sounded like she was trying not to cry.

"Hey, baby, I am sorry to say this, but I have to leave. This is the end. I am so sorry, but I don't think I will see you ever."

I continued listening to her audio, feeling numb.

I suddenly felt Muskan beside me as the rest ran towards me, kneeling down as Raghav looked at me worriedly.

"What happened? Who left?" He asked as I stayed numb, listening to the audio as I let it finish.

It felt like the longest 4 minutes; the tears kept falling as the three stayed silent, none of us knowing what to say.

"It's obvious she doesn't want to go," Muskan said as she patted my shoulder.

"What should we do now?" she asked, looking at me as I stared at the floor.

"Don't lose yourself, Ekansha; think smart," Raghav said.

"Money..." I muttered, catching their attention.

"She said that money is powerful and that her mother is not afraid of using it," I quoted.

"I feel like you will do something stupid," Raghav said as I raised my head, looking at him with tear-stained eyes.

I took my phone as I dialled a umber. I placed the phone in my ear; it rang there times before I heard the sound.

"Ekansha?" said the other side.

"What happened? Is everything alright?" The other side asked.

"Mom," I groaned.

"A woman thinks she can kick me out of the college and humiliate me," I said, and the other side turned silent.

"I want to teach them a lesson," I said as I heard a sigh from the other side.

"I'm coming; stay where you are," Mom said as I nodded. The call cut off as I put my phone in my pocket and wiped my tears, taking a deep breath.

"If you don't mind me asking, who is your mom actually?" Naveen asked.

"I have been wondering the same thing: that jail thing, and what happened to those kids? What is all of this?" Raghav asked, his eyes showing a tinge of fear.

"Do you know Ruby Foods?" I asked as they stayed their heads.

"They are a franchise of Jasmine Corporation; my grandfather is the chairman of Ruby Foods, and my mom is the CEO. To make you guys understand, we are the owners of one of India's largest food chains. All of those fast foods you see here are owned by us." I admitted it as they looked at each other in disbelief.

"So you are filthy rich," Naveen muttered as I got up.

"Oh, and my uncle, he is the trustee of this college," I mumbled, walking out of the door.

"What are you going to do now?" shouted Raghav as he followed me.

"Catch them," I said.

"How do you have to reach them? How will you know where they are?" Naveen asked as he followed.

"I don't know,"

"Wait, I have been trying to call Madhu, but they are saying her number doesn't exist," Muskan interrupted as I stopped.

"I'm going to go," I said, running towards the parking lot as I opened my car.

I sat in my seat as I turned the engine on, speeding through the road as I tried to reach home as soon as possible.

Somehow I reached home safely. I opened the door as I saw Aunty sitting on the couch, and she shot up as she saw me.

"Where were you?" She asked worriedly.

"I was a bit busy, but what happened?" I asked, hoping she knew something.

"Her mom came; I left to buy some sweets, but when I came back, they left, and I think there is blood in her room," she said as my soul left.

"Blood?" I asked as I ran towards her room. I busted the door open as I saw a pale steak of red colour. It wasn't much, almost getting missed by, but it was suspicious.

I felt my phone vibrate as I picked it up; it was mom. I placed the phone in my ear as I heard her say,

"I'm hearing; come out."

I ran downstairs, reaching out, and I saw a car parked as she came out.

Behind her, another car parked as Raghav and the rest came out.

"Who are they?" She asked, pointing at them.

"Friends," she nodded as she walked inside. I looked at them, confused.

"Why are you guys here?" I asked.

"She is our friend after all; we will also help," Muskan said as I couldn't help but smile.

The four walked inside as Mom and Aunty sat on the couch.

"What do you want me to do?" mom asked as she looked at me.

MADHU'S POV

I sat on the waiting chair as mom read some magazines. I wanted to run, but I took a deep breath as I got up.

"Where are you going?" She asked without taking her eyes off the magazine.

"Restroom," I mumbled as she coughed.

"Don't try anything stupid; if you embarrass me, I will forget that we are in public," she warned as I nodded.

I walked towards the restroom; the airport was not crowded. I saw the female restroom sign and walked towards it.

Reaching inside, I realised it was empty. I went towards the sink as I took a handful of cold water, splashing it on my face. I felt the tears fall again.

Don't cry again, Madhu.

Yesterday I left home; we stayed in a hotel near the airport, and today in some hours we will leave. I don't know where mom has decided to ship me off since she refuses to tell me.

I tried reminding myself, but it hurt so much. I held the sink as the tears kept falling, and I suddenly felt a tap on my shoulder, making me jolt away.

"Aye, don't be scared," a voice said. I looked in the direction and saw a middle-aged woman.

"Why are you crying?" She asked as I stayed silent.

"Home sick?" She asked as I paused, nodding slowly.

"Oh, you miss your family?" She chirped as I looked down, tears falling. She held my chin, making my look up, gently as she wiped my tears.

"It's okay; I have seen many cry; some miss their spouse, their kids, and their family," she comforted as more tears fell.

"Ayeee, don't cry; you are such a strong, big girl; you will see your family soon," she cooed as I bit my lips shut, trying not to cry more.

How can a woman I just met give me more comfort than my own mother ever did?

"Who are you missing?" She asked, patting my shoulder.

"Is it a lover?" She asked, smiling mischievously, as I couldn't help but choke out a smile.

"Ayeee, caught you!" She teased as I sniffed.

"If it's made to be, then you will reunite soon; who knows, your lover will come all the way to meet you," she said, nudging me with her elbow as I wiped my tears.

"I don't think I will meet my lover again," I admitted as she scoffed.

"That's childish; you young kids can message each other," she said as I shaked my head.

"My mom is against my love," I said.

"What about dad?" She asked as I paused.

"He is also aware of it?" She asked, narrowing her eyes as I shaken my head. She snapped her finger as she said,

"That's enough; ignore your mom and listen to your dad," she said, smirking as I smiled.

"Thank you," I mumbled as she frowned.

"Why, I am just doing my job," she said. As I noticed her clothes, she was one of the workers.

"Now go; you might miss your flight," she said as I nodded.

I walked out, feeling a bit better because of the woman, as I took a breath of air.

I walked back to the waiting area. I saw a crowd around that area, men and women wearing a specific type of dress. I walked near and saw mom arguing with someone.

I quickly walked towards them, and I could hear Mom shout.

"You can't stop me; I have a flight in 4 hours!" She shouted, and I pushed some people aside as one of the women looked at me head-to-toe.

"Sir, I think she is a kidnapped victim," the woman said as my jaw dropped. I looked around, trying to figure out what was happening.

"Ma'am, you can stay calm; we will save you, another woman said as she came towards me.

"LEAVE MY DAUGHTER!" mom shouted as she grabbed the man's collar. The woman grabbed her as they mumbled something.

They dragged us towards the security area, making us sit in an office inside the airport as mom kept shouting.

I tapped my feet anxiously, getting extremely anxious.

"Ma'am, for the last time, we can't let you go until we get an order from our chief," the man said.

"You don't understand; I have not kidnapped anyone; you are framing me!" Mom shouted violently, and I covered my ears, hoping the time would pass.

"Hey, Miss Are you okay?" a woman asked as she came in front of me.

"Who are you guys?" I asked, still not knowing who these people are.

"I am Divya, superintendent of police." She said it with a small smile.

"Why are we here?"

"We got a complaint of kidnapping and abuse against the person who is saying that they are your mother; is it true that they are your mother?" She asked as I nodded.

"Well, family relations don't  justify or rationalize the case; since you are legally an adult, it would be considered kidnapping since you have been brought here without your consent," she said.

"Can I ask who filed the complaint?"

"We can't disclose the name yet; once the chief arrives, I will make sure to tell you," she said as I nodded.

"Would you like to eat or drink something?" She asked as I shaken my head.

"Divya, Chief is here!" another woman said, peeking from the door.

She excused herself as she left. I leaned back, resting my head against the wall, as I hoped for the hours to pass, keeping hope that we would miss the flight.

"Doll,"

My eyes shot up as I looked in the direction of the sound.

"DAD?" I exclaimed, not believing he was standing here.

"My kid, are you okay?" He asked as he rushed towards me. I got up as I ran into his arm, the tears falling unknowingly.

"Dad, pleaseeeee, help me," I cried out as he patted my head.

"It's okay; everything will be fine," he comforted me as I took a deep breath.

"Please, dad, let me go back to her. I love her so much, I can't live without her," I cried out, my knees almost getting weak.

"HOW DARE YOU?" I heard Mom shriek as she came towards us.

"YOU DIVORCED ME?" she asked as I looked at him, not believing her words.

"You raise your hand at my daughter, mentally torture her, and think that I will be okay with it; oh, you are very much wrong," he shouted as she looked at him with venom-filled eyes.

"You can't divorce me," she whispered, looking at him with tears.

"I can't? but I just did," he said as she screamed.

She screeched as she grabbed her hair.

"This is all because of that rascal; I will end her," she shouted as she ran back.

I looked at my dad, my eyes beseeching for an explanation.

He seemed to understand as he sat beside me, tapping the seat as he said,

"That girl you fell for—she is not a normal one," he said as I looked at him, not understanding which way he was saying it.

"Do you know her family?" He asked as I shaken my head.

"I got a call just hours ago from a woman saying that I needed to be in India and sending me a flight ticket. I didn't trust it, thinking it was a scam, but then she said, Your daughter Madhu, she is missing," he said as he looked ahead.

"I lost my mind, calling your mom but to no vail, then I called Jeeya, and in 10 minutes I got a call from her, Ekansha, right?" He asked as my heart became alive. I nodded, looking at him as my heart beat increased.

"Turns out the woman who called me the flight ticket was all sent by her mother; I didn't waste a second and called a taxi, and now after hours I am here." He said more tears fell as he wiped them.

"Sir, can you please come here for a minute?" a woman asked as he got up.

I was left alone in the room. I buried my face in my palm as I let more tears fall.

Some minutes passed, and as I heard the door open, I didn't check who it was; I didn't have enough strength. I heard the footstep approach me.

"Sona..."

No, no way.

"Sona..."

Don't tell me I am hearing sounds now.

I looked up and saw her standing in front of me in her usual loose white shirt.

It was such a classic Ekansha look, but instead of her signature grin, her lips trembled and her eyes were red and puffy.

Damn, she is cute.

TO BE CONTINUED.
