ATREYI'S POV :-

I hide.

I should get awards for hiding and running away from problems.

Whenever a situation which won't be easy to tackle, comes in front of me, I run in the opposite direction and hide thinking that the problem won't find me.

It's silly I know but I can't help it, it has been my coping mechanism since I could remember.

So, just like every time, I ran away. I ran away from him and his questions that I could see swirling around his irises and a newfound desire burning inside him to find out the answers to these questions.

I left not because I didn't have the answers but because I didn't have the guts to answer them. And the type of person that Satan's child is, he won't drop it till he reaches the very end of this topic and his quench for answers is met.

So, I went towards the backward and sat there with my thoughts. It didn't come to my notice that the time has rolled from morning to afternoon until the househelp came to call me for lunch.

Sighing, I get up and dragged my feet towards the dining hall and sat down not sparing any attention to Atharva. Sir and ma'am try to pull me into conversations but I mostly kept my mouth shut, just mumbling a few words where it's absolutely needed.

We hear the sound of a chair scraping against the floor so I tear my focus from my plate towards Atharva and notice that he is leaving his plate unfinished and muttered, "I am full. I can't have more." while walking out of the dinning hall.

Although both of them don't say anything to him but their faces tell a different story. Turning my attention back to the food, I finish eating and say in a mechanical voice, "Thank you for the lunch, you saved me from cooking the entire day and the food was delicious. But I would like to take my leave now. See you tomorrow at school sir."

Saying so, I walk towards the wash basin and after rinsing my hands I strolled out of there.

As I was about to step out with my car keys and phone in hand Atharva called out to me, "Wait Atreyi !"

I turned around and he stopped a few feet away from me.

"I won't twist my words and will speak straight to the point. Some questions are reeling in my head and I can't sit quietly until I find the answers to them.” he said.

Noticing that I won't be saying anything he continued, “Why were you adamant on not choosing Holi as the theme and why chachu said that you have your reasons ?”

“I don't want to talk about this; if you have anything else to ask please go on.” I urged.

Shaking his head he said, “No, nothing more to ask. Just one thing...” he stopped as if waiting for my permission to say further.

“Speak Atharv I can't spend my entire night waiting for you to complete your sentences.” I replied getting impatient.

“I know we are not friends or anything but if you need someone to talk to you can always count on me.” he slowly said and looked at me like I am a deadly animal who will pounce on him at any moment now and will shred him to pieces.

That thought made me want to laugh out loud but then my brain slowly registered what he said and my anger reached it's peak.

“Firstly, I am perfectly fine and even if I need someone to speak to you would be the last person I would go to.” saying that I stormed out leaving him standing there.

ATHARV'S POV :-

I watch as she gets into the car and speeds out of the gate. What is this girl ? One moment she is all happy and chirpy and the other moment she is spewing venom out of her mouth.
