It was a beautiful day, the kind that just begged to be spent outdoors. As I looked around at my closest friends - Bless, Johanna, Sofia, Audrey, Cheska, Estelle, Gabrielle, Anne, Alyssa, and Summer - It's been 2 months already since our recognition day.
We had gathered in the park, laying out a cozy picnic blanket beneath the dappled sunlight filtering through the lush, green canopy above. Sipping on iced teas and nibbling on snacks, the air was filled with the sounds of our laughter and chatter.
But it was Lawrence who seemed to be the true entertainer of the group. With his animated storytelling and witty jokes, he had us in stitches, our shoulders shaking as we savored his clever quips.
I couldn't help but join in the chorus of giggles that erupted around me. There was just something so infectious about Lawrence's infectious energy and good humor.
Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Justin, Fredrick, Yohan, JB, and JP engaged in a lively game of frisbee, their laughter and friendly taunts adding to the festive mood.
As the afternoon wore on, we continued to revel in each other's company, sharing stories, cracking jokes, and simply enjoying the simple pleasures of being together in the great outdoors.
As the laughter and chatter began to subside, a hush fell over our group. We all turned our attention towards Audrey, who had a mischievous glint in her eye.
"Hey, you guys," she said, a playful smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "Fredrick has something he wants to confess."
At the mention of Fredrick's name, my heart skipped a beat. Fredrick? What could he possibly have to confess to us? My mind immediately began to race with all sorts of wild possibilities.
Fredrick, who had been standing a little apart from the group, now found himself the center of attention. He cleared his throat nervously, his cheeks flushing a deep shade of red.
"Well, um, I... I have a bit of a confession to make," he began, his voice trembling ever so slightly.
The rest of us leaned in, our curiosity piqued. What could Fredrick, the ever-dependable, level-headed member of our group, be hiding?
"The truth is," Fredrick continued, his gaze shifting from one friend to the next, "I've had a crush on someone in this group for a while now."
A collective gasp rippled through our circle. Someone in this group? Who could it be? I felt a fluttering in my stomach, a mixture of excitement and anticipation for Anne, I have been teasing them and encouraging Fredrick to date her all these months, and I wish they would be together.
"Anne and I are together"
The moment the words left his lips, the group erupted into a frenzy of excited shrieks and squeals. We all started gushing and cheering, jumping up and down in pure elation.
Yes! This is what I've been waiting for, I've been gushing and teasing them for over a year since they look good together!
"Oh my gosh, you two are already together?" Cheska exclaimed, her eyes wide with delight.
"Why didn't you tell us sooner?" Gabrielle chimed in, playfully punching Fredrick's arm.
Anne, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment, tried to hide her face, but the radiant smile on her lips gave away her true feelings.
Fredrick, on the other hand, seemed to revel in the attention, laughing and grinning as we bombarded him with questions and playful teasing.
"Seriously, how long has this been going on?" Sofia asked, her gaze darting between the two of them.
