She was sitting in the library with Nancy and Steve. Trying her best to do this stupid calculus hommework while Nancy helped her out.
"I'm gonna Sharpen my pencil" Nancy said. Valerie nodded.
"what are you gonna be for tonight?" Steve asked, excited to share his costume.
"ill probably just use the same one as last year" Valerie said not looking up from her paper "and that was?...." Steve said "Freddy Krueger" She responded.
He nodded, He was still staring at her. Waiting for her to ask him the same question. When she didn't he said "oh wow thanks for asking me Val"
Valerie sighed looking up "what are you being for halloween Steve" he smiled "thank you for asking" he smiled sarcastically
"I'm being Joel Goodson from risky business"
"creative. I'm guessing Nancy is being Lana"
"well when you say it like that it doesn't sound creative" Steve said disappointed. Steve noticed that Nancy was zoning out "ill be right back" Valerie nodded
Not long after Steve pulled Nancy aside, someone took his place in the table.
"Val! can I call you val?" billy asked "you know you can't" she responded
"am I seeing you at that party later"
"you know, I was going to. but now that I figured out you where going, I might just skip." She said looking up from her paper.
"oh come on, and leave me hanging?" he said jokingly. Valerie did not find it funny.
She looked back down at her paper, ignoring him
"when are you going to let me take you out on a date?" he asked
"when are you going to stop trying?" Valerie remarked
Before Billy could respond Nancy and Steve made it back to the table
"Steve! what a pleasant surprise" Billy said smugly
"why don't you get out of here" Steve said with a straight face.
Billy looked back at Val with raised eyebrows. he winked at her, standing up.
While getting out of his chair he got intimidatingly close to Steve, looking in his eyes like he was going to de-thrown him.
