Adrien pulled her into a tight hug.
"Mom...." He had begun to tear up at the sight of Nathalie crying.
"Mom, please don't cry." He begged her. He couldn't stand seeing her cry.
"Yes, please Nath, don't cry. I promise you everything will be fine." Gabriel said, joining in on the hug.
"I'm sorry, I just can't take this anymore. I'm sorry that I let you guys down..." Nathalie was always talking down on herself. She hated her life, so she found no reason to do otherwise.
"No Mom please don't say that, you'll never let us down!"
"I'm sorry, but please know I love both of you..."
That was the last thing she said that night, before she walked off to her room. Gabriel and Adrien chased after her, but she begged for them to leave her alone. Once she heard that they were both gone, she ran to the bathroom, grabbed her knife and held it to her stomach. She began to cut, and cut. She loved the sensation the cutting caused, and although painful, enjoyable. She saw her own tears fall into the open wounds on her stomach. She had never cut herself so deep but nobody would find out anyways. She told herself no one really cared about her. They pretend to. She couldn't really explain how she felt. She felt like Gabriel and Adrien cared about her, but only about what she showed on the outside. Not on the inside. Gabriel had only caught her cutting once. And she had promised she stopped. Adrien didn't know at all. They didn't know what she thought of herself, and what she told herself everyday. They didn't know, that every day, she thought about Gabriel's bullshit promises to keep her safe. He had only harmed her through the time she was with him. But now he had begun to change. A little too late. She had already decided on her fate. She stared at the open cuts she had made in her stomach and smiled sadly. Nathalie got up and began to walk out of the bathroom. She headed to the window of her bedroom, a trail of blood pouring from the cuts in her stomach. She stood at the window, staring down at the busy Paris street. The blood started to make a pool at her feet. She thought about everything she'd gone through. With Gabriel. With Adrien. With her "family." They never treated her like part of the family anyways. It was probably best to forget about them. After this, she would never have to think about them at all. She decided to leave Gabriel and Adrien a note, asking for forgiveness. To Be Continued
