L's words bothered Light. Light had always envisioned himself being in the care of loving parents, but never believed in them, thinking that perhaps every parent was like his. But L had clearly loved his parents which made Light a bit jealous. Well, that was an understatement. Light hated L with a deep passion. He hated everything about him because he was just so ughhh. When L caught his eye, they glared daggers at each other. BB came to Light asking, "Hey Light. What's with you and L?"
Light replied quite aggressively saying, "Mind your own business, you useless child." Which got Beyond in tears. Sobbing, he left the room. Light immediately felt bad. He decided to give Beyond some time and decided to console him after that.

L hated Light. He hated him so goddamn much. That worthless boy. He had the priviledge of alive parents but he left them. He and his brother had to leave their parents because.. well, they died. He just couldn't imagine why anyone would just leave their parents, the ones who brought them into this world, who nourished them, and made them grow into beautiful people.

Of course, people like L and Beyond were forced to leave. L sighed, trying not to burst into tears. He went to his room and flopped on the bed. Light was not there for which he was glad. He thought about the day when he heard the news of his parents' death...

It was a rainy day. "L, dear. We'll be back in a while. Take care of Beyond." his mother said. L was a bit reluctant to let them go, whining, "Whyyy?? Where are you going? I wanna go too." But his father disagreed. Finally he agreed to stay and take care of Beyond. His mother gave him a warm smile and his father ruffled his hair. After saying goodbye, they sat into the car and drove away to who knows where. After about an hour, L heard sirens. After checking on at B who was sleeping, he went to check to open the doors as someone was knocking. A police officer stood in front of  the house. He looked at L and said, "Mr. and Mrs. Lawliet's son?" L nodded. The officer sighed and took off his hat. "I'm really sorry but there has been an incident. Your parents have been in a terrible accident. The road was slippery due to the rain and their car slid off the edge of a cliff. I am really sorry but both your parents are dead." L had gone white. He muttered, "No that's not possible." But the look on the officer's face told him it was. Tears threatened to spill from his eyes. He shut the door and burst out crying. After calming down a bit, he went to his room, wondering how to break this news to Beyond.
