Friends...?

"Hi guys. I'm Misa. Misa Amane."

L smirked at Light who looked quite annoyed. The latter cleared his throat pointedly and went back to his room. Smirking, L followed him, hoping to find an opportunity to annoy Light further. He found him flopped down on the bed. "Soo Light, you finally found an admirer, I guess." said L.

"Oh shut up."

"Hehe, I touched a nerve there, didn't I?"

"L, will you please shut the fuck up?"

L pretended to gasp, and pouted. "That was rude, Light."

"Ughh..." Light stood up and went to Beyond's room. When BB saw him he gasped and squealed, "Lightieeee"

Light finally laughed and said, "BB grow up, you are fifteen"

BB pouted (Wow, Light thought, both brothers are pout masters). "But you'll always be my Lightie." Then with a glint in his eye he added, "Lightiee, I loovvee youu."

Light rolled his eyes and gave him a one armed squeeze. "Anyway," asked Beyond, "why are you here? You never come to meet me now."

Light felt guilty and said, "BB you know how much work I have. Plus everyday I have to deal with your brother and prevent Near and Mello from murdering each other. As for your question, I'm here partly because I missed you and partly because your brother is annoying the shi- the hell out of me."

BB grinned and though he noticed Light's quick change of track, he didn't say anything.
"C'mon Lightie, let's have a tennis match. The winner gets whatever he wants." 

"Wait, let me go change my clothes." But in reality, he had gone to take BB's favorite jar of strawberry jam. He intended to let BB win as he was a really sore loser. After a few moments, he met BB in the tennis court, and said, "C'mon. Let's see who's the actual winner."

As Light intended, BB won. After sending off a highly delighted Beyond back to his room, with a strawberry jam jar in his hands, Light sat on a bench in the court and took off his shirt. Suddenly, someone gasped. Light looked around. There, he found that girl, Misa. She had her mouth elegantly open and was staring at Light's bare chest. He hastily tried to cover his chest, but she held onto his wrists and refused to look anywhere except Light's handsome features.

"Er, excuse me. Do I know you?" Light asked hesitantly. Misa seemed crestfallen. "You don't know me? Well, I want to make it clear that I am your number one fan and am so in love with you."

"Um, I'm sorry, but I really don't know you at all, much less like you."

"But I love you, Light"

"Who told you my name?" Light asked, horrified. She winked at him and replied vaguely, "I have my sources. So tell me, will you become my boyfriend? Pretty pleaseee?"

Light was getting really irritated, and all politeness forgotten, he raised his eyebrows and said, "Bitch, I'm gay."

But this didn't divert Misa at all. Instead she said, "Oh, believe me, I know how to wrap gays around my fingers." "Oh, just fuck off, stupid girl." And he pushed past her back to his room, which was luckily, right next to the indoor court. 

He opened the door to find L staring at his laptop. On hearing the door open, L looked up, and burst out laughing. "What happened to you? You look hella annoyed. Oh, and uh Light put on your shirt. I don't want that sight upon anybody."

Light looked down and blushed, seeing he forgot his shirt back at the court. "I'll answer the questions after I've had a proper shower."

"Hmph, fine by me"

Light went to the bathroom, took off his pants, and stepped in the wonderfully hot shower. After five minutes or so, he stepped out, and wrapped a towel around his waist. He stepped out of the bathroom and found L still sitting in the same position, with his knees tucked up, and thumb in his mouth. L looked up from his laptop and said, "Light, I asked you to put on your shirt, but far from that, you even took off your pants. Are you feeling hot tonight? Want some relief?"

Light's eyes widened and he blushed but tried to hide it by smirking and replying, "Why, L? Am I too hot for you to handle? Have you got a problem downstairs? I'd be happy to oblige."

"Stop playing the uno reverse card and wear some clothes."

"As you wish, mister" Light smirked.

He slipped into his pyjamas, and laid down on his bed. As he closed his eyes, L said, "Woah woah woah. You still haven't answered my question. What happened? Who annoyed you?"

"Why are you so curious?"

"Because only I'm allowed to annoy you. No one else."

'Wait L really thought that about me? Wow, that was unexpected.' thought Light. 

"It's that Misa Amane. In the court, she just stared at my bare chest and asked me to become her boyfriend as she loves me or something. Anyway, I told her that I'm g- uh that I'm not interested and to fuck off"

L was looking at Light in a strange way. Light wondered whether he had noticed his change of track, but he didn't comment on it for which Light was grateful. 

L then started to laugh. He laughed so hard that tears actually came out of his eyes. Light was shocked by this sudden display of a new emotion. L was always either frowning, smirking, grinning and annoying Light, or gazing blankly off into space. But laughing? That was new. And L suddenly looked like a fellow human being to Light.  Overcoming his initial shock, Light threw his pillow at L, saying, "Oh, shut up." but grinning all the same. The pillow smacked L in the face.  L pretended to gasp and said, "How dare you? Oh, I'll get you for that" and the next hour turned into a full fledged pillow fight. 

After about an hour, they laid down on their beds, exhausted. "You know, Light, I think I see your point. We could be great friends. Too bad I hate you." 

"Aw, come on L. Why do you hate me now? I thought that we were over all that shit."

"But then I would have to do it formally."

"What do you mean?"

L took a deep breath and stretched out his hand in front of Light. He said, "Hello, Light Yagami, I'm L Lawliet. You may call me L. And I would very much like to be your friend."

Light laughed, and rolled his eyes. He shook L's hand, and said, "Why, L Lawliet, I would love to be your friend. And you may just call me Light."

"Ok happy now, Light?" asked L, rolling his eyes.

Light grinned, "Very."

Sorry for not updating yesterday when I promised to but I forgot to publish this. It was saved in the drafts. Anyway, Thank you guys so much for over 100 reads. I'm really glad to find this 'book' reaching its first milestone, and it is honestly a huge deal to me.
